So I was pulling back the plate behind the passenger footrest to take a peek at the fuses (so I knew where NOT to drill to install my new aluminum footrest)...and saw this connector looking lonely.

What is it supposed to be connected to? Any ideas?

    TIA.

There are several connectors at various locations throughout the car that are used in "other" market areas.

European cars (F355 era) had a switch used to disable the ABS system, the cables are still present in US cars but the switch is not available over here.

    A free 3 pins connector ... I would suggest a diagnostic connector.
With yellow cable, I would say airbag ECU diagnostic connector ... if your car is equipped with.

    Guilty as charged.

Its a Hill Engineering item. We don't list them on the website, but have sold quite a few. We can get them 'plain' or with custom engraving. $97 'and up'.

Suggestion. I used commercial grade Velcro to install my Hill Engineering passenger side foot rest. Easy to position, easy to remove to get to the fuse box and no possibility of drilling into the fuses/relays, etc. Two Velcro strips the width of the foot rest mounted horizontally, hold it very securely.

I have one of these also, they look great and it gets plenty of positive comments from onlookers and owners alike. I went with the plate that has F355 engraved in it, as usual it is super high quality (Hill Engineering style!!)

I have just had it sitting against the fuse box door as I did not want to drill into the plate with out removing it and, well, to be honest I have just not got around to doing the job properly, mainly due to the fact it sits there nice without the screws. But thanks to Scott's idea I'm gonna throw some velcro at it tonight. Nice one!!

Great idea, wish I had thought of that. However, I would have lost the excuse to go buy a new drill and some titanium bits.
