It was with the same owner in CA for 33 years. Too bad it is no longer in its original colors which were Argento 106-E-1 with Nero VM 8500, sold new in Italy, with three owners there, before it came to USA.

Isn't the current bid (525K) a bit on the high side? I thought the value of a steel body GTB series 1 in this condition would be closer to 480K... Am I way off?

Yes, you're off already by $120K and counting. What condition is this 2 cam short nose in, according to you? Can you tell the car's condition just by looking at the auction data on Ebay or do you know first hand? Unrestored cars in superb condition like this car seems to be in are worth more than a super-shinny version!

I like those wheels, but why were they only offered for such a short period?

They look so much more interesting (than the plain cast) without being too fussy.

I expect that replacements are hard to come by...

Is this a South Bay car?
Did Alec G. do the engine?
    Is it Scott's C's car/ex -car car?
If so, pretty solid running car...to my memory...

Of course I have no idea of the condition this car is in but according to Mr Massini this car is in no way in "original" condition: as he says "Too bad it is no longer in its original colors which were Argento 106-E-1 with Nero VM 8500"... Unrestored and in original conditon most probably not. Also who redid the paint and interior, that too should influence the value of the car. In any case, seems like some people think it's worth this much and even more...

I did NOT say it is no longer original. I said it is no longer PAINTED in the original colors which were Argento with Nero. The long-term ownership (33 years with same person) may be very attractive to certain people.

Marcel, would you have a picture of a car in the colours of this car (106-E-1)
I ask you this because I am born July 1965 and have decided to buy myself ofcourse at the right price, an original ferrari 275GTB from 1965 the nearest as possible to my D.O.B. and prefer a nice colour and not red.
    Thanks,

Where do you get your information? Value is not influenced by a color change as long it's done in period color and is a quality re-spray. Same goes for the interior. Price is up to $625K. A good quality driver with out needs should still bring in the $700K range.

Didn't Symbolic recently offer a red/black 275 GTB with the Starburst wheels that they brought back from Japan? I think Bill Noon told me it was sold in the $650K range. Just think Napolis was expecting 275's in the $250K by now!
