Indeed. They can't put the little Marlboro logo on but they plaster a 13 foot tall Santander billboard on the front.

What's the difference. Have you seen the size of the Vodaphone logo on the McLaren gear?

I remember depising Alonso as the cocky young upstart who was giving Ferrari hell in 2005-2006. But I think he has been forced to come back to Earth after a few lean years where even giving everything he had wasn't enough due to team performance. The cocky young upstart giving hell to Ferrari now is Lewis Hamilton.

Alonson was not my first choice for Ferrari, but the choice has been made. And as such, I support him, although I'd rather see Schui or Massa or Vettel win. But we'll see!

I don't miss what Kimi became in 2008. He needed a break, maybe a permanent one.

There's so much Alonso hatred on this board. But i genuinely think everyone will like him when he starts winning, doing wheel-to-wheel battle with Hammi.

Forza Fernando! I am very excited about 2010. I can't remember the last time I was looking forward to the start of a season so much. In the UK the bookmakers are showing Hamilton as favourite, but Alonso 2nd, and Schumacher 3rd. Is it March yet??

If the internet was as all-powerful in 1996 you'd see similar threads with similar sentiments about Schumacher being hired by Ferrari. Many people were against the idea. Some still believe that Schumacher was a bad idea for Ferrari, but most have mellowed.

FAILING to inform is being the team player.
They all cheat, they all know, the idea is to keep your mouth shut about it. Prima donna FA upset the apple cart.

Absolutely Spot On...back on those days Schumi was deemed too "Germanic" to the very latin "know how" of the Scuderia...damn some even longed for Alessi!

...funny what turned out to be that weird Schumacher-Ferrari liason.

and guess what, Alonso comes here just as Shumi did, 2WDC on his belt, acused of cheating...bla,bla,bla...It will take us a long time to get this car adjusted, to both drivers and tyres and so on and so forth...

The moment Alonso starts winning...everyone will forget how much they hate him....I hope it includes me

If Alonso starts winning everything like MS did in a Ferrari, I will want to see him beat.

I like what we have right now, whereas there is a good handfull of drivers that could win it..

I like what there is now...as long as Ferrari Wins enough to be a consistant rival and Wins the constructors championship just for a start:)

...the Ferrari domination was darn boring...

I hope we can win both champs...without damaging the show

I don't care if Alonzo wins every race of the season for Ferrari...I will still not like him.

I will though be VERY happy for Ferrari.

And yet Alonso takes a slating on here because he did not go through with his threat to tell the FIA what he knew was going on at McLaren (i.e. he did "fail to inform").

It doesn't matter how you try to re word it, on this site, Alonso was damned for failing to grass his team up while at McLaren, and then damned for alledgedly grassing his team up while at Renault.

Yet again Alonso is being given the blame for events that were not of his making!.

Phil, I thought it was Alonso's threat that made RD decide to disclose it himself. IIRC he felt didn't have a choice at that point since FA was going to inform.

Or is my memory as bad as my diet? ;)

Your memory is as bad as your diet. RD was about to call the FIA when FA told him to forget what he said. RD said OK and made the call anyway. Not verbataim but that's the jist.

I don't like Alonso but realize he is a good driver and will win races for Ferrari. I'd prefer Raikkonen in the car or VETTEL but I'm not going to root against Alonso because I support Ferrari even though he may be a prick/cheater/uni-brow/snitch.
