Sad, but you just can't leave these cars parked outside on the street. I took my Lambo once to visit a friend, and when I got back the nose was dented from somebody parallel parking...and then leaving.

I now take my Toyota if I have to park on the street (it has a lot better bumpers too)

Im surprised the rear wheel would just pop off like that after pressing against the kerb, thought it might have more strength or at least the wheel nuts might have been stronger.

 

My guess, it's probably still connected to the brake rotor. Leverage bent the suspension.

 

That's what I was thinking... what a HORRIBLE hit and run. I hope he has
good insurance, but I'm afraid this will be a salvage title from now on.

Ugh. I'd probably cry a little bit! Economically, that's like someone burning down a house.

I'd probably ask for it to be totaled out so I could buy another. Let's hope he has gap coverage on the loan.

really sorry sight. The wheel came off because I bet the impact was so heavy, the wheel pushed over the curb.

I would guess total write-off as the frame has been impacted by looking at that wheel.

I really hope they find whoever did this. A purple car with orange highlights...not exactly 'stealth'.

My jaw won't come up off the ground.

I'm having a hard time believing that this happened and nobody saw it. It must've sounded like a tractor trailer truck pushing a grocery cart into a wall. Bending and screeching metal.

Im impressed that the mirror did not break off with that impact, sad to see...

 

A few years ago, someone did almost that same kind of damage, to my new Corolla DX.

I came out of a movie theater and some POS, did not even bother leaving a note. It was just the rear quarter panel, but it is not a nice feeling to be surprised that kind of way. My Corolla is now less collectable, after it was clipped.

 

So sad, i bet the owner was gutted
