    Doesn't the threat define blackmail?
The cheating certainly wasn't his doing, threats to damage his own team were.

At the end of the day, Dennis didn't come forward to the FIA until Alonso made his threat, so without Alonso, the truth may never have come out.

Like I've already said, Alonso gets a slating for not telling the FIA whats going on and then gets a slating for telling the FIA whats going on., the man can't win!.

I thought one of the wife's of the clowns that nicked the stuff went to the photo copiers with the data, and the owner who was a big Ferrari fan, blew the whistle on them.

FA is only out for himself, and I have a real job believing he didn't know NPJ was on a kamikaze mission.

Does it really matter? FA is going to get blamed anyway. As far as FA knowing or not knowing about Singapore 08, I would think they never told him directly. Plausible deniablity. Whether or not he figured it out afterward, I'm sure he did but that would be the sort of thing that if it were me, I really wouldn't want to know so I wouldn't ask.

PS Steve, name me one modern era racing driver that is not out for himself.

Well Luis thats just it, these guys are immensely competitive folk, ones that have a job accepting there maybe some as good, if not better.

So this season should be just fantastic in that respect MS LH FA

Of course. I merely mention it because you singled out FA. He's no different than anyone else. There's no one on the grid that's not out for themselves. The days of team first have been over for a loooong time now. None of the top drivers accept that another driver is better than them, which is a good thing. It causes them to push harder and really try, which makes for great racing or great entertainment when they end up in a smoldering heap on the side of the track.

Lol, can't wait for the new season to start! BTW one of the best wrecks in recent history was Senna/Brundle at Oulton park I think it was. Senna's car ended up mounting Brundle's. Martin said he could get out of his car.
