i had a '95 gold (yes gold) diablo vt it was 1 owner 7000 km. very clean car but sadly very underdriven, drove it for a few days then sold it to stanley eurospeed for fear of overhaul n greed for profit. but talk about presence, in some senses it looked even better than the murcie which has too many flat plain surfaces i feel. with pwer assisted steering n having had 3 testas, the drive was actually a piece of cake (tho clutch a bit heavy), even city driving ..n the doors ....oh the doors........regret man ('cept the profit part)

It's actually very easy to drive. The clutch was light & gearshift is sweet. Ask Leslie & Lung.

Well Tim, which GT3 are we talking about here? The new one is S$600K while the 997Mk1 is probably above S$300K too. Don't forget the parf where the Lambo sits well above S$200K & the body. But lastly, it's the badge mate. The badge & of course the sound. As for those scissors doors, u boys can be forever in wet dream as I've never seen a proper one that went under S$400K yet. (forget that old Diablo pre 6.0, u'll need huge calves to drive it properly & it'll never handle that well)

If u ask me, these Jap ricers give us exotics a run for money for performance but would u want them?

Mate, I have pics of the purple one in my Hp ;)

Saw it when it went for a servicing with my mechanic in KL.

Huh? A wrench that uses ciggie adaptor? But then again you're always in the seas!

    Something leaking internally...

gear shifts into N sometimes instead of 1st gear when coming to a stop. for example 3rd straight to N.

plus sold my 997 turbo already..

Hahaha, yep was trying to chase the Cup car & forgot to watch my own lines! Thank goodness I could drive out of that pile! :D

Ah, looking @ the map, I went wide @ turn 11.

I need more trackdays to understand this car better. Haven't got well acquainted with the gearbox & power but the grip was good & it was tough to break it's tail except @ turn 14 for me. I had to do a quick drop to 2nd on some to bring power back up or either that, I entered too slow.

Well, actually I forgot everything. What gears are we supposed to do on turns #1, 2, 4, 9 14 & 15? Some of my 1, 4 & 14 are on 3rd gear. Geez, my last trackday was in Aug 08!

Best I could master yesterday was 2.48 on street tyres but it's the car doing most of the job & the phenomenal brakes! This car is covering up all my mistakes & I should get into a basic car to learn again.

Turn 1 and 2 definitely 2nd gear, 4 is 2nd gear for me, 9 is 2nd gear, turn 14 is 3rd gear for me as whilst 15 is 2nd... but I am slow and your car should have mountains of torque to allow a higher gear... Ron is dropping by my place later. Will ask him what gears he uses. Yesterday he was stuck at 2.33.

turn 11 you understeered into the gravel I bet as you were taking too much speed into the corner?

Sat with Vex.... man that guy can freaking throw a car around a track. His lines were so different to mine though in his 4wd monster.... amazing to sit with him. Wonder if Ron runs similar lines to Vex given the 4wd.... massively late apexing!!!

heck mate, 2.48 first time out in your car is damn good.... I'd be happy if I break 3 mins hahaha

Leang, that's a good point to note as almost all post 60s American cars are "censored" but how about those from EU etc? Euro bumpers are also a lot nicer as well.

Yes, if u look, almost all RHD classic cars have a premium over LHD & maybe due to numbers made?

Btw, I finally found my way to your KL's Exquisite Marques. Saw your cousin's 512 & that poor Countach out in the open. They need a full restoration IMO but screw it if he's driving them.

There was this black Cayenne there, badged "Magnum" which look pretty serious. A special matt black & painted body with some metallic purplish flakes in them.

Tim, this is one you could've kept but then others wouldn't come along huh ;)

The 6.0 is a lot more civilised but the Murcie was simply awesome for a daily, not much diff from a big saloon & maintenance was virtually none.

Harold, this is still in Singapore but those buggers are claiming huge price for it now. The same dealer offered S$100K on the body of my Murcie when at least 3 others gave S$180K then he had the cheek to tell me someone offered S$350K on that gold Diablo.

U guys should hear how much the original owner who sold the gold Diablo for!

Anyway, we can forget about this gold Diablo for now. You can easily pick up a few in KL for lesser than that & don't have to worry about COE or hefty road taxes.

Some pics courtesy of my close friend Patrick from Exquisite.... was a superbly organised track day with mech support, a great bunch of guys as usual to hang with and real fun had by all...

Another good buddy of mine who owns Concord Energy was shaking some of their cars down before Zhuhai and they provided some fun for us to contend with on the track as well though TripleM nearly lost his balls when one Aston just missed him by milimetres....

Sepang see you 6th Feb!!! Be kind to me please :D

    Ah. Thank you very much.

Yes, forgot to brake! :D Massive oversteer. Was looking @ the Aston's tail (God it sounds gorgeous!) & forgot about the turn coming up. Did everything late & felt the massive G pulling away & knew it's gone. Would have gone straight in though. I actually thought my bumper fell off!

It went for many rounds after that.

Dude, I'm not claiming credit but the car did it. Classic case of incompetent driver with a good car. The brakes & traction are so good that I would've lost it in any other cars. I need to learn in a basic car & am wondering if I should get the Civic but that's a FWD. Maybe I should get some passenger time with the boys from the other camp.

Good pics mate. That's the white GT3 I was talking about. Damn fast!

    Nice wheels Derek!

I think the buggy will drive better with this wheels! Personally I feel the grey Scud wheels will suit your buggy better.

I had someone else complaining to me today that their car's been held up at Ital for 2 wks. They aren't doing themselves any favours, people will start taking no warranty issues elsewhere soon

    I'm in 3rd turn 1, 4 & 14; 2nd for 2 & 9

damn so jealous .. I'd love to join a TD next you go

Mrs K has spoken .. "I like the gold .. don't change them" .. so i guess they'll remain gold for a while at least

mate, next not porsche event is end feb... BMWSG....

hahaha... mate, think at Sepang the guys dont care at all what helmet you use, as for safety, I think there has been much debate as to full face vs open face helmets, and bike vs car helmets. At the end of the day it really boils down to personal preference.... I have both a full face and open face but have really got used to the feeling of a full face in the car and its the Arai specific car version (kiasu mentality).

That explains why I am still freaking slow hahaha....

please do join us next time mate.... as mentioned above, there is the BMWSG event that TripleM is organising end of next month...

As for the gold.... yes I actually like the look a lot more than dark grey...
