Agreed. The Diablo was the last of the notoriously difficult to drive cars. Stayed true to its Italian roots..

That's surprising indeed! Didn't know they even offered manual for the SV.

Should be the Techart Magnum. I think it looks hideous though.

Mate, what tires you recommending now... my Corsa's are shot. Thinking if cheaper to get a set of PS2 for street and Hoots and new set of rims for the track....

ha thats mine...its very comfy for track as its open face...n easy to clip n release...n i know it doesnt match the car...

    jon, 1,2,4,9, 14, 15 r 2nd gears.

5/6 3rd for me then up to 4th and then back to 3rd for 7/8 corners

hold 4th thru 12....break tap to turn the car for 14th in 2nd....

bro... how long the corsa's lasting you. what i dont like is that i am wasting a lot of rubber going to sepang and back.... figure a dedicated road set of standard ps2 for driving to and from sepang (and a lot cheaper) and a dedicated track set with cheaper slicks like the hoosiers for the track. PS2 approx SGD2k, Hoosiers approx SGD2k, I spend on a set of rims for the track (additional outlay). Then the PS2 will last maybe a year or two as only highway driving, and the Hoosiers 4 or 5 track days, then another SGD2k outlay. Compared with the Corsa's which cost SGD4k and last me 4 track days before I need to replace.... although its only the rears... hmmmm.... maybe I just talked myself out of the Hooters after all... hahaha...

Shows I clearly am leaving a lot on the table at 6, i never need to go to 4 before hitting 7 and 8. Also 12 and 13 are 3rd gear for me.... was watching the video footage with ron, need to get on the gas full steam when i clear apex of 12 i think then feather after apex of 13 before down shifting to 2nd for 14? BTW, awesome times again from you Jeremy....

Damn Harold. If u can make such a choice then go for the hoossiers. After seeing chris' time, u ain't the only one thinking about it. Worth 5 seconds perhaps.
My corsas last 7 track days on the last set. I'm quite *****. I dun curb n I brake earlier than I shud. But I hv heard Porsches tend to wear more behind. Heck go for he hoos! I want too.

As for gearing it depends car to car. Minute differences. I hv tried 4th in 5-6 3rd in 12th. Subtle differences. For me I hv to perfect the 12th now. Next step is to b more aggressive which I'm reluctant to. Heart pain la.

    I'm thinking of this:

buy a super trofeo n keep in lambo kl. Costs 200k euro. Regular engine. Normal oils n servicing. Each time I bring to track prob costs me 400myr for towing to n from lambo kl. Beats spending 1m for a new car here.

Wat u guys think? Assuming the car is serviced normally. I hv to check.

Bro... am betting that the gearbox will need changing every 20 hours or so etc.. much like the Porsche cup cars. Why not buy a second hand Cup Car as there are always a few floating around? Car is capable of 2.11 on Sepang.... as for me part of the satisfaction really is driving my street car on the track and getting to know it better...

you not aggressive???? sheesh... thats a damn good time mate. I am going to be sober for a change at next track day and think far more about my braking and turn 5/6, 11/12/13/14.... heck thats almost every corner! hahaha

My left rear tire is just at the wear indicator and I am on the 4th track day with those tires with almost no daily driving on the car... right rear has maybe another track day left.... will try for one or two more track days before changing tires maybe... hope I am not pushing my luck...

as for being more aggressive I must say that I really like to be well within my limits as I just dont like off road excursions or the thought of bringing the car back in anything other than one piece....

ya really ask smoothie...im poosy compared to him n rock! i cant buy porky la....dunno how to drive manual...n besides 4wd on track is no brainer...very safe n grippy. its the car not me. most of the improvements made over time r due to knowing the lines. next step is ur gearing followed by knowing ur brakes...weight transfer from front to back under various brake pressure to aid turn in.

the SL is capable of a 228 from the theoretical stitching of sector times on the corsas. very difficult.....

I have that system for both the GT3 and Lotus.

Thats actually the best, I can still use them for B roads and Spore

Haha, I always brake early & too heavy but really missed that one as I was too engrossed chasing that Aston, my only 3rd lap & when I saw the turn, was too late to brake. Heehee.....thank goodness I didn't go too deep & was able to drive out.

Oh yes, workshop was all full & thanks to Gary for the intro so they attended to me very soon. There's an Austin too which looks like a centenarian.

There's some rust building up under the paint of bottom right C pillar of the 512. A common problem but will become worse if not attended. The cabin is original but a new trim would be really nice & love the Daytona seats!

The BIG webbers look fantastic on the Countach. First time that I ever seen the engine of this beast :)

Harold u are being too humble mate ;) but gosh, some serious timings there!

Damn, do I see another lady doing just 2.36 in a Honda Civic, beating many many other mightier cars, proves that it is the driver again.

I'm afraid not :( The last was exported, the gold SE#008 now resides with a dealer in KL & asking for slightly above RM1 million if I'm not wrong. The body was sold for S$250K, I almost bought that but it needed some fair work & the Murcie is just better for a daily.

I think they wanted S$650K @ that time which I offered S$600 & it was exported for a little under 600. The cabin is a lot nicer with miles of carbon fibre everywhere & better seats. I think I saw a copy of the logcard last week while clearing my file!
