Dude, a master told me that it's better for us novice to learn with street tyres so we can learn our mistakes & control the break. Once we can master that then we'll appreciate & maximise the semi or full slicks but I concur having a 2nd set kept in KL so u have a good set for travelling in all weather.

Me too. Was familiar with my old Lambo but never had the heart to take it up above 80% for fear of wear & tear.

What's the take from you guys on curbing or kerbing? I took seat with a race driver before & he was doing it on turns 1, 2, 4 & some other tight ones.

Woah! bro, deep pocket man. But if u're so much into this why not have a chat with Mel & have them co-sponsor for you to take up the Trofeo Cup then maybe hosting an Asian leg? Would love to see a local representing Lambo :)

It does make sense to keep a track car here, ask Fong & I can help you to sound it out too. You should meet Marcus, COO of ES in KL, super nice chap & he used to race in several series.

I think the HK guys have been doing it in Zhuhai etc for years on the Gallardo GT3s.

Otherwise, Harold's recommendation is wise. The Porsche Cup car is on sequential gearbox, not a normal manual. I can ask Huey for you ;) There are also some other retired race cars that come with spares as well & probably won't cost Eu200K.

ya its true..i used to modify this n that..but forget the basics...which is driver modification..
no la..not race the trofeo like they do in europe. just thinking its a cheaper option than buying a new car for 1 mio and then driving to KL to track n back...besides i dun really drive the car on local roads. so it actually is cheaper to keep a trofeo in KL to track only. PROVIDED the thing is normally serviced. i was told the engine is pretty stock. not sure about the rest.

i think its ok to do some curbs...i wud not touch T2 curb..scared i bottom out under heavy braking n scrap the front lip off. 4 is fine....exit of 6 is fine. i dun need to touch 7. 8 is fine. 9 is nono for me. 11 no need to. just brush it. im not sure about 12. but bit of 13 is ok as u hug the turn into brake zone of 14. i will brush 14 as well n occasionally if too hot on exit of 14 i may run the curbs on the left but i try not to. T15 lambos 4wd means a late apex for me so i dun touch 15 curbs.

james using race fuel. cant get near him. n if u look at the timing sheets detailing all the laps we did. he doesnt seem to hv heat problems. he cud run 3 hot laps...each time. the next best GTR is in the 2:31 zone...not on the sheet...

yup and even with the new replacement parts coming in..they are not confident that it will solve the problem..

as for the GT3 rs....at least apr or may the way i see it. Production only starts in feb and mine is the first one...nothing more can be done to speed things up..

Hahaha, u know. I'm probably the next biggest poser, was thinking of getting a Trofeo bodykit to wear on an old Gallardo :D

Hmmm. Yes, no point buying a million dollar car to track & if u don't clock much mileage in it too. That's the reason I sold my Lambo, no more over half-a-mill car if I'm not driving it & not to mention the maintenance. I would push u for the dedicated trackcar thing but spending half a mill Sg dollars in CASH (don't think there's finance & insurance, well no road tax either) might be OTT. Why not take a look @ other makes for far less & with the money saved, u can have a container of spares & heck, even a pit crew!

The KL workshop that I use sends his son to race often. Rubens Wong, he represents Honda & often goes up the podium in Merdeka Cup. I've seen some of those Integra DC race cars @ Sepang & they sound awesome too. Bet it wouldn't cost more than RM200K for one now.

Btw, how do we corner on turn 15. Take far right then sharper turn or hug to the left for a wide turn?

i feel that they are a lot faster than hsm for basic things like servicing. used to have to leave the car for 3 days just for a simple oil change...ital does it within 1 day.

but when it comes to problem solving perhaps hsm being around for a much long time would be more efficient

Dude, take the new Turbo cabriolet. The PDK will be so sweet to drive & definitely shines on trackdays as well. I'm beginning to feel the regret on the 5 speed tiptronic but for the money I saved & a daily driver, ah what the heck!

Anyway, I took mine for 6-7 rounds of non-stop in Sepang & nothing to worry about on the gauges. The 911 didn't even rest for more than 10mins intervals & went on again & again.

The green one puffed white smoke on cold start too but didn't smoke out the room though :D

Fong, are those Volks or? What's the price & fit on those?
