There was a typo in your title, it says race. Don't you mean draft for 200+ laps and hope for the best(j/k)
And most can't cut it. I don't particularly like nascar, but you have to go into it (and every other racing series) knowing 'it is what it is', and it's IROC. Actually, that's a disservice to IROC racing. Now, give me nascar at a place like Bristol or Martinsville and I am entertained, but give me any nascar race on a track longer than one mile and I'll take a nap until there is 5 laps left. Kinda like Indy racing. Kinda like most F1 races.
I agree. NASCAR after F1 is like chalk and cheese. You have to forget everything you have learnt before, and start all over again in another discipline. Not many can do that!! From F1 to NASCAR isn't really a logical progression, and I suspect that many attempt the move because there are plenty of seat available in NASCAR. Are they? I don't know. Or maybe that some NASCAR team owners are ready to give a chance to famous names from F1 in hope of attracting more sponsorship? I don't know.
Why so much hate for this kid? He was in a tough situation at Renault. Your manager/agent should not be your team boss. And your team boss or manager shouldn't put you in a position to make such stupid decisions that can injure yourself or others. He may have handled it all the wrong way but you have to appreciate that he was in a very strange situation.
1) He crashed on purpose 2) He kept quiet about it until he was dropped from the team I can't believe that anyone would employ him, but I'm really glad he is no longer in F1.
F1 again proves to be a mere stepping stone to NASCAR truck racing If this keeps up we're going to need those little flags next to the driver names on TV.
Crashing out your car to help your team-mate.... Never been done before in Nascar. New worlds I tell ya.
+1 If his intention was good, he would have disagreed, or made a report to the FIA before the race. Not after having a bad season, getting sacked then suddenly 'remember' to bring this topic up. IMO, this was the worst scandal in recent times.
+1. Moolah wise, Nascar is the next best option. Trucks are the third series down from the Nextel Cup, a good place to get feet wet and relatively low profile if progress is slow. As with all racing, success is directly related to the team you're with. Red Horse? Anybody heard of them ?
When did daddy's name EVER work in nascar, or anything outside of F1? 1A) Because the people that pay him, or work on his car told him to. I would, too, as long as I didn't take someone else out, and you would too! 2b) Same as ANYONE else would do.
