hahaha... very suitable.... or a panda

have to agree with this... bit surprised that one would forgive all the foibles of a car or its agents lack of performance (err..) just because of its badge or its looks solely.... AND pay top dollar in the process... kinda like marrying a hooker just because she looks oh so pretty and yet you know she is laden with some undesirable baggage..BUT not to say a Ferrari is a dog or hooker but you get my drift...

Funny thing is hearing about Itals lack of support for its customers so far has got me spooked.... if I was into looks and exotica right now the choice would be clear for me (even though I do love Ferrari's and would love a Scud one day).... Aston or Lambo appear more reliable, just as exotic and beautiful and the service agents are far more supportive of a car costing as much as an apartment. I really hope Ital sorts themselves out pronto as buying a car is only the beginning of a relationship.... the after sales service, the reliability of the machine etc all play a huge role for many prospective buyers...

After sales servicing is big time for me... I must say that I even feel that the quality of workmanship of Stuttgart Auto and the long lead times at their service centres leave a lot to be desired though, the only saving grace being that Porkers dont need to go in as often. Having said that, because I hate to wait, I have over the last few years been sending my car to outside service centres because they are far more responsive, and in the case of P-Cars, a lot of them actually do know what they are doing. To the point that my current car is a PI because I have no worries, nor interest in sending my machine to Stuttgart.

Will Hong Seh continue to support servicing of Ferrari's full time? Also... I believe that Exquisite does Lambo's as well as Porkers.... are they doing the F-Cars as well?

Unfortunately, didn't get a chance to fire them up but the wing was off the countach & they are doing some work to it, I managed to lift the engine cover to peek though. Don't worry about it, I'm sure we'll have more time in future. I was reading a copy of Forza this morning & saw a restored 365GTC/4 & boy it was gorgeous with a new cabin including daytona seats, can't imagine when your cousin has his done up this way :)

On another note, I found a Porsche aftermkt supplier who stays just few blocks away from me. He's the dealer for Vorsteiner, Fabspeed etc for Porsche & FedEx parts in for clients.

Yes, sir. That's the reason I pulled the plug as well. A coupe came to few dollars shy of $700K for my spec & I fondly remembered a lightly used yellow 599 went for about 10% more that's all....which now spends some time in the Italauto showroom.

That said, I have a strong feeling the new PDK gearbox will be sweet for the TT.

Very good questions. For #2, I'm sure they can be trailered in as I've seen foreign cars in workshops before. We can drive them to JB or last stop in 2nd link then load it up to a flatbed. What car would you want to bring over to work on?

    Fong?

It's done, I'm just pondering if I should collect it these few days or after CNY when I'm back. Got to send for inspection, insurance & road tax etc. Then detail the car etc. 1st thing are fresh tyres as I think they are over 6yrs old then look into the service side.

Oh yes, now that I remembered. Your black RS was the first in Singapore. It actually came from the then Sri Lankan dealership, can't wait to see this gathering. We've been trying to do a shoot on Leslie's RS, Fong's & your version; hopefully we can do it with the mk2 this time round.

If they can be driven, why not just leave it with me in JB, I'll arrange for it to be driven out to Singapore.

Shoot has to be after CNY. The RS is getting the engine resealed.

Yes mate, Marcus imported it PI as the first RS in Singapore. At the time we all thought there were going to be absolutely no other RS's and believed that Stuttgart would never bring them in!!! How wrong we were.

I really wonder how on earth Marcus located the car in Sri Lanka when it had only just come out? Do you know the full story? Should ask him sometime....

Yeah, would be great to get the pic of the three generations of RS.... pity there are no 996 RS's in Singapore otherwise we could have the full generations in the gathering!!!!

Looks like we're having a similar problem. I did a south run a night before your Kluang & had the bouncy effect on parts of the NS again. I suspect it's the suspension setting or some alignment thing since it's a known fact that factory delivered TT had "messy geometry". I'll be sending it down to my guy in SinMing, Kian Tiong who uses the Hunter system. I'd better get a package deal as I'm getting it checked, drive & installing new sway bars etc later. Should be about S$60+/- a session. Let me know if you want it. Otherwise, several other guys do this as well.

Toe in? hmm, will ask on this as well. Er, is the fuel tank of 360 behind, under cabin or in front of the firewall?

Wow, you mean to Turbo? what one earth did u like?

We can PI in a new 997TT as well, saves about 10% off Stuttgart's but don't get the full 5yrs warranty, pay for your own oil, pads etc, slightly lower OMV & similarly lower re-sale later.

That's gorgeous! Giger's one of my fav. artist too.

Now, get a proper FIA suit & maybe the Hans system too :)

My experience at IA so far has been generally positive. It may be because I've not had a serious, show-stopper type of issue which requires parts, waiting time etc. Minor niggles have been sorted out reasonably quickly.

I agree though, after sales service is a huge factor but easily overlooked.

so far my experience with IA has been good, they dont play favourites n seem very attentive n eager to help -guess they just need to get the parts supply with factory sorted out quickly. also it takes some time to get familiar with the individual idiosyncracies n niggly issues with each f car model

Can he hook up to his RS rear rollcage?

Btw, the guy who sold me the 456 sold the black GT2 last year for about RM800K. They were trading for 6-700k before & he knows almost all the owners.

CGT for you? He has DBS, CLK DTM (LHD) & many others but told him we're keen on older classics.

Toto, if u want a trackcar, my guy can sell u anything u want & don't register it. He'll pass u a plate to drive from his warehouse everytime u come to track it plus servicing with agents or any workshops that you fancy can be arranged. Sounds like a plan if u want to track, just pay for body price which u can easily re-sell later.
