There a really nice '95 GTB in my garage. It has cost me a whole $35 in unplanned maintenance to drive for for the past two years. Sorry, this one is not for sale.

My wife decided that the 355 was now her's! So, it stays where it clearly belongs, in our garage.

The good 355's are not hiding, they are out there being driven and being maintained when appropriate. Over 5000 miles this past year, what great times with the car!

    A true story:

Back when I was working (in chip design/engineering) the tools people would come by every year trying to sell us the next latest greatest tool set. However, over the decade of use, we engineers ad figured out where all the bugs in the old tool set were, and how to program our ways around these bugs. Whenever we would try out a new tool set we would run into different bugs, some of which did not take lightly to the ways we had learned how to get around the prior tool sets bugs. Thus, we could not just pick up the new tools plug in the old project data and run forward. So, in order to get projects "done" it was faster to use the older tools with our knoledge base than the newer tools with no knowledge base.

And aside from all that, the old tools were essentially free to continue using, while the new tools would cost us the equivalent of 20% of the money used to pay engineers.

    Moral:

An old car that you know and runs well is a better proposition than a new car you do not.

You can import any car that is older than 15 years from the PRODUCTION DATE stamped on the door without any hassle at all. Since our front bumper regulations changed to being the same as yours you can pretty much import any car now with very minimal hassle.
