    Does anyone know what the major difference of the challenge steering pump is in comparison to the standard? Can I put a challenge pump on a standard steering rack? What would be the effect of that?

    The pressure regulator valve is set for lower pressures.

    There would be little to no reason to install it on a standard rack.

    Why I am asking is that I have found a pump and am looking for new rack. I was just thinking that I would swap the pump and wait for a rack to show up... But I guess I can do it all at the same time when I find the rack...

    If memory serves me, there was an FChat member in the UK going under the User name 355Newbie, who (a while ago) had a Challenge Rack for sale. I was going to purchase it, but I found that my late-build 1998 had a Challenge rack in it already. Go figure?
