I don't know anything about 260 clutches but I have a client with a 360 f1 that got 55,000 on the first clutch and went 60,000 on the second before an oil seal went bad and soaked it. It was at about 60% wear at that time.

He commutes in the car so lots of stop and go. He also live in a community of steep hills.

My 360 F1 clutch was last checked at 17K miles showing 8% wear by the technician and factory SD3 computer who installed it. In other words, all original PIS settings were available so it's a pretty accurate reflection of actual wear and predictor of ultimate clutch life.

Why do most owners selling these cars change their clutch at around 10,000-20,000 miles?

I have 10500 miles with 20% wear. I posted the same question about the F1 clutch for 430s and most said to expect 20k miles as a replacement point.

Hi out of curiosity, what is the name of the oil seal that went bad. When I do my clutch I may want them to change that seal if it isn't standard procedure.

Nice to hear some impressive mileage numbers, especially given the conditions (stop and go, hills) :)

would it be leaking gear oil or f1 pump fluid when that seal goes out?
    thanks
