That doesn't guarantee another invite, or does it? Or does the invite cover entrance for the 2010 Pebble Beach?
Cars rarely appear twice at Pebble from what I understand unless they are one-offs or other extra rare cars.
330GTC - Not the original color, it seems, been through several different interiors (Urban/Raab). Still, how much to take a $200k 330GTC and make it that nice ... when you can drive it away from the auction.
That car was from Japan that Symbolic had last year. Was on the 275 tour in 2004. I wonder if it is staying in the US?
The gold car was a 427SC, number CSX3021. Repainted twice, approximately 3,000miles. Allegedly sold by the original owner at a Fort Lauderdale auction a year or so ago for roughly $3.5mil, then showed up on ebay awhile later, now mysteriously offered at Gooding by (allegedly) the same original owner (who supposedly sold it for 3.5, yet now takes the 990).
$1,950,000 USD plus 10% commission 1181GT-1959 Ferrari 250 GT Series 1 Cabriolet. 1959 New York Auto Show Car. Originally Racing Red with all-white Connolly leather interior. Last Series I with covered headlights. Owned by Bob McKelvy of Scuderia Bear and Bob Grossman. Sold in 1981 in original condition with 34,000 miles from new. Subsequently restored in black with red interior.
I think the estimate was a little high on this. Did they REALLY think it would get $3m - $3.75m? $2m is the right range for these cars...I'm not sure why, but they just have never carried the cache' of their big brother...the LWB California. I'm not knocking them because I think they are beautiful...just an opinion.
