Whoo hoo ! 6 weeks later, my 348 is back home from spa services at Sport Auto (Summerfield, NC). * oil change * coolant flush * transmission oil change * brake fluid flush * new Hill Engineering oil reservoir plate * new steering wheel (my 360 Challenge wheel is available, if anyone is interested) * new turn signal/headlamp stalk assembly * passenger seat rails fixed so seat locks properly in all positions * upper dash vents (defroster) repaired * new pedal box cover plate installed (my feet got wet driving in the rain!) * Husker LeMans grill completely removed and re-installed. (Sheet metal burrs all nicely cleaned up * Husker LeMans grill nicely gasket-ed on the outer edges for a nice flush fit. Outer edges now firmly secured with new hardware. * Targa roof seals re-seated, futile(?) attempt to keep the car dry * shoulder belt orientation fixed (don't ask) * "intermittent start" issue resolved * Rocking seatback fixed on both sides * new engine bonnet struts ...and I'm sure there are more line items that I have forgotten about. And "so much for no-stories car": A Garden State Parkway token was found jammed under a seat. For a car that supposedly never lived north of the Mason Dixon line, sure makes ya wonder. My take? who cares. The cars are worthless anyway. Drive it, enjoy it. They all have some stories. Water, wreck, repo. Big whoopin' deal. My goal for 2010 is to roll at least 5k miles on her.
Sweet... I'm so friggen jealous of you "southern" boys that can continue to drive through the winter. My car is just a grey cover sitting in the garage. I try not to look but my heart is breaking. What was the start issue determined to be? I assume battery cabling.
Must be a great feeling to get her back and all 'put right'. Since she's practically 'born again' - I think you need to post the obligatory picture!
Enjoy, Daniel. If I owned Ricambi, I don't think I could control my urge to replace every part on the entire car. You must have great self-control.
Which means they can be driven with no fear of repercussions! Life is short, so enjoy it while you can! I'll toss my hat in with a few of the other folks and ask the same... where are the pics? *grin*
Awesome! But as PAP says... Grammatical inaccuracies aside, the sentiment is perfect. Hehehe All the best, Andrew.
Rainy and drizzle today in North Carolina. Car is tucked away in the garage... but I'll go take so pictures later today.
Keep in mind, it is about 38 degrees and rainy outside. My garage is detached from the house, dark and uninsulated. This is the best I can do, without freezing my sorry butt off... Pictures of the car, plus some random ones because I had the camera in my hand. Great pictures! I've got a MINI too... and yes, it'd also make way for a 348 if I had one. All the best, Andrew.
I have said it before, I'll say it again: nicest 348 on the planet. Too bad we cannot hear it in the pictures... Mines due for a once over by Tom also. Waiting for the interior bits to get here, should be soon. Black wheels, always the best!
