Ok, let's get it rolling, who's gonna win?
I think NO is a little better than the Jets were at skill positions on Offense, but still, MN got 28 points - and coughed it up FIVE times - on NO. This may be another 51-48 games...
N.O. by 9+ Fully healthy team with great pass defense and able to generate more defensive TD's than any other team in the NFL. Colts will be surprised to say the least!
Not so fast my friend: "...Saints TE Jeremy Shockey took a Southwest flight to Birmingham, Ala. today where he said he'd be spending a couple of days, according to a source. Shockey has had lingering knee issues the past couple of weeks and prominent Dr. James Andrews happens to practice in Birmingham, Ala..." source: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/302223/jeremy-shockey
indy will win, because peyton manning is peyton manning, everyone saw what happened the second half of the jets-colts game, how he literally carries that team.
No doubt he is one of the best ever. But interesting to know that Brees consistently has him beat in terms of stats. Not to mention that Brees was only 20 yards shy of Marino's single-season all time passing yard figure a couple of years ago.
Easy; if the Saints team that played the Cards show up, the Colts are going to lose, by a fairly large margin. The team that got by the Vikes? We will lose, by a fairly large margin. I'll take the team that played the Pats as well.
MN outgained NO by almost 180 yards, and Indy's running game is nowhere near as good. *IF* NO can get any kind of pressure on Peyton like they did Favre - NO will win. BUT if Peyton gets into a zone - and NO doesn't have anywhere near the pass defense that the Jets had - it could be a short game for NO. I just don't know what RB's to use on my NFL Fantasy Challenge Team. Thomas-Bush-Bell-Addai-Brown....
Yeah, but Indy's backs tend to hold on to the ball a little bit better than AP. I'll spot the other team 180 yards if I can get back three of those turnovers.
Holding onto the ball doesn't make a lot of difference if you only rush for 75 yards. I mean using the run to help CONTROL the game, not just inside the 20 yard line. Yes, I know, holding onto the ball is big - you need to do that - but still, you need to be able to run from anywhere on the field. That said, I may pick up Addai because they like to throw to him coming out of the backfield also. I never know which one of NO's WR's will dominate the catches, I don't know if I will even take one of them.
one must remember that new orleans can score just as easily and quickly as the colts, they dont have a problem putting up points. saints pass rush makes the difference.
You should have saved your wad for the big dance not the junior prom . Oh well want me to get you a program ?
On a good day. But if they have a bad day...? NO stunk up the place more than once this season. So did Indy a few times, even though they won the games I'm speaking of.
Team POWER PF/ g PA/ g PF PA Wins Losses Pct Score Saints 111.3 32.6 21.3 586 383 15 3 0.833 30 Colts 107.7 25.9 18.2 466 327 16 2 0.889 26 Seasonal averages (including playoffs). 2010 average was 21.2 pts/gm.
When did the Saints stink up the place? They are statistically the #1 scoring offense in the league. In this season the only times they gave out was in the last few games when their divisional title was already wrapped up. The Cardinals game and the hits put on Farve/turnovers should have the Colts a little worried...
And MN having FIVE turnovers, yet still taking the game to OT should remind you not to uncork the champagne quite yet. NO is a good team, but they have not been consistent all season long.
Home field wasn't wrapped up when they fell apart against Phony Nomo and the Cowgirls. But they did have a lot of injuries to contend with.
