Hi All I'm tacking my question onto this thread because it is related. 1) I have also had gremlins with slow-down lights and an engine bank cutting out to 'limp-home' mode and would like to be able to pull codes. I am in Europe where the switches were not part of the car and also the lamps are supposedly not fitted. 2) So I removed the covers to the lights in the dash to see what was really there. A photo is attached (but it isn't actually possible to see which bulbs/lamps are actually fitted from it). Fact is that the middle two positions are indeed empty (no lamp) and these are marked "Engine check", even if their position is not exactly as shown in my 348TB technical manual (where they are shown as second from left and right). 3) What I see is that the seat belt lamps are inserted although these are not used in European versions, so I think that I can take these amd put them where the "Engine check" lamps are missing. 4) My question is, how best to extract the lamps and then insert them. I didn't try yet but notice that it is not possible with fingers (the holes are too narrow). Are they screwed in or can then be pulled? What tools are best used? I ask because I tried pulling some other lamp in display instrument (where the lamps were no longer working) and didn't manage to get this out without it breaking...
