92 with 18k miles in Evilbay have many $$$ issues and I think it maybe a scam. Reading by its description, the owner eccentric.
91 on FChat- did anyone carfax it?
If it’s too good to be true, it’s BS.

You said you can't buy a 348 in the US for less than $35k. I submit any one of those 13 can be bought for that or considerably less. The yellow spider recently discussed can be bought for less too. Is it perfect? Hell no, but for 30k-ish it's a recently-serviced convertible Ferrari you can thrash and have a blast with. I know for a fact there have been a couple nice 348s here on fchat go for $35k or so within the last year. The market sets market price, not sellers. Is your 348 worth 35k? Not if you won't sell it for that. Problem is, it takes both a seller and a buyer to establish market. So that '93SS asking $61k is in no way a market price, but simply wishful thinking.

It's an old argument that has been hashed out here a few times. Unfortunate for sellers now, fortunate for buyers There was a time when the tables were turned so the market balances things out. A 348 is a fabulous car and for 50% of the market, it's always a fabulous deal.

I love these threads. They always bring the 'experts' out of their respective closets and basements. Many of the experts weighing in don't own a Ferrari or ever have owned one, let alone taken on the real task of maintaining one.

The car in question in this thread has a dubious (at best), ownership history. An owner botched electrical system, and God knows what else. A friend of mine was interested in this car, checked it out....... and ran. You get what you pay for. I can remember countless 'bargains' that have been touted on here as well as other areas, only to have a follow up thread of the disaster that the 'bargain' turned in to. Owners of great cars aren't giving them away, but they quietly change hands at fair pricing. Just as good Ferrari's have done for decades.

If there are owners who want to give their cars away, they may have a reason for doing so. Good for them. Why the owners on here want to trash the values of their own cars is beyond me.

Thankfully, Fchat doesn't represent the majority of owners and enthusiasts of the marque. Fchat used to primarily be a great resource for owners to trade information. Somehow it has morphed in to home for dreamers and wannabes who all seem to have 'expert opinions'. Opinions are like rear ends...... everyone has one.

I'd rate my opinion fairly high since I just sold my 348 6 months ago.

They're low $30s cars right now, and that's down about $10K from 6 months ago.

so what are the prices on nice 348 spiders with avg miles? i'm on the sidelines, but wouldn't mind picking one up in the 30s. is that realistic for a nice car with recent service and 30k+ miles? i'm not trying to beat down prices, just wondering if my view is realistic.

mid $30s is market. find you one that needs the service that you can buy for high $20s and then have the service done yourself so that you are satisfied it's been done. Correctly.

Not all 30K services are created equal.

I want to sell mine, but think I don't want the headache of dealing with a private sale. I'm dying for a newer car, flip flopping between 360/430 issues. My $.02 as an owner of a decent car is that I bought my car right about 2yrs ago. Paid $34k for it and put $10k+ into in. (Although only 6k of it counts since it was redoing the clutch a second time after a sh*tty transport burned it out. I digress...)

Anyway, I consider any money that you put into a car for service to be lost. It just keeps the next buyer from discounting it further. "oh, it needs a service, take $5k off the price".

I'm realistic and know what I'll get for trade as well as what I could get for private sale. The car has its issues but by no means could porschericer call it crap.

My point being is that I'm an owner and wanting to sell trade and I don't consider that 'discounting' the value of the car. I consider it realistic. I debate on putting it no reserve on ebay or just taking it to the dealer once I find the car I want. I just don't want to deal with it...

mid-30s would certainly be a nice price, and upper 20s just unthinkable a year ago.

MAJOR SCAM! Look here, half way down the page. All I did was run the VIN through Google. 348 Values have not tanked that much.

I'm sure someone would love to get my modded, serviced/with documentation 348 for the price of some of these beaters or emergency whore sale cars out there.

I love to read the threads about some fool that just bought his first Ferrari for "cheap" then a week later and for many more after that he's on asking a million questions about why something won't work or moaning about how much it's going to cost to repair it. After this fool has had his "bargain Ferrari experience" he sells the car for less convincing other fools that's what the market value should be.

People, there are nice well taken care of 348's out there you are just going to have to pay for it. There are no cheap Ferraris! just cheap poseurs.

The bottom line here is you get what what you pay for.

Oh I know that, but looking at that price with what we know the car went for two years ago and the fact that there is a fresh service? Come on.... $17,000 Really. Scam written all over it.

This might make me unpopular with the brotherhood, but prices have indeed dropped across the board. Perhaps when Obama is a fading memory, the prices will jump back... but for now we are in a downward spiral for resale luxury goods.

I just missed a MINT condition 348 for $30k. Red/tan, 17k miles, interior as fresh as the showroom. Due for major (but that is a plus in my book, since I can install Hill Engineering tensioners for a "bulletproof" 5 years).

Don't feel too bad, though... I also just missed a decent 360 with no stories for $70k. Two years ago this would have been a $100k+ car! Now that's gotta hurt the seller!!!

I know I was in pain when I sold my Spider last year at about a $15,000 loss... :(

    Wow!! A $30K 348 and $70K 360!!! :eek::eek:

$100K for both cars there, costs us $270K+ here in Aus! :(:(

I should just buy a 360 there for $70K, bring it back into Aus, register it under club rego and drive the ****en thing LHD! :D:D
