At this late date, finding a place to stay will be difficult. You might try some of the local motels in Avon Park or some of the chains in Lake Okeechobee. Try the Best Western in Lake Okeechobee. They have very good rates and usually have rooms almost up to first of March.
At the track, the esses, harpin , backstraight just get out and walk. There are numerous spots for great viewing . Don't waste your money on the club seats. Make sure and take clothing for all types of weather, one of the coldest nights I ever had was in the paddock at Sebring one March !!!
Its a great experience, there's no other race in America like it !!

Thanks for the first hand info. It is never easy the first time you visit somewhere new.

I've been to at least 25, 12 Hrs of Sebring. It's the grearest race in America, maybe the world !!!! When you drive down, once on the FL Turnpike, exit at Hwy 27, should be 2nd exit, and follow south into Sebring !! Great drive ! You won't believe the hills !! Citrus country !!
