Thanks mate. The yellow bath tub is a shining example of an Australian race car, IMO Nike should offer sponsorship, looks just like some sneakers I saw in a shop once..... I am contemplating going to Pukekohe tomorrow to watch the racing again......I'll take the camera if I do go....
Is this the same car? Front end and plates are different, but otherwise very similar. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137286766&postcount=9 Will always be king of the hill, if you ask me ... c
Im with you mate!! If you ever owned one, it would certainly be a keeper! Imagine what it will be worth in 20 yrs time.
The car in the photos from Hampton Downs came from Singapore and is basically an LM spec I believe. It's meant to have the engine mods as well as the HDF kit. The car you posted is still in Aussie i think? Different color as well i think.
That one is a completely different car, and that picture is taken in Australia (where I think that car still is), and the car carries Victoria state plates. It's a completely standard F1, and therefore has none of the bodykit that the NZ #018 does. #018 has been converted to almost LM-spec (meaning: GTR/LM engine, EHDF kit - comprising spoiler, bodykits etc, amongst other modifications including a GT-spec interior). It was originally a blue standard road car delivered to Japan, with a normal engine and no body modifications, think http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20G/1995-02-05_NagoyaPerfCarShow_010461.jpg (pic thanks to peloton). It has since been via Germany and Singapore, before arriving here.
Cool, thanks for the info. So there are stories of a McLaren F1 that lives just north of Wellington. Is it this one? c
Not unless #018 lives there too . I have heard of three different McLaren F1s that have been in New Zealand at some point, two of which I believe are still here. One is the one shown at Hampton Downs. I have already provided some details about this in a previous post. I don't know where within NZ this one lives - does anyone know? 018 Came into the country a couple of years or so ago. The one you speak of, just north of Wellington, is an unidentified-chassis-number silver car supposedly belonging to someone in the Whittaker family (of Whittaker's chocolate fame), and doesn't get out much. I think (?) this car has been here it's whole life... The other is now in the US, owned by Larry Blair. It was one of the prototypes, XP4, and was originally owned by Sir Roger Bhatnagar. Hope this helps (If you have time, check in here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=272365 ) Peace
The chassis number is known but the details on the car are not reveled to respect the privacy of the owner.
Large and lots of spots of rain today...yeah! Tanks are filling up, its cooler and as its Auckland Day I don't have to work!
Veyron/s have supposedly been ordered, but dunno if they are here yet or if they will come here. There are 1 or 2 CGT's. I see a GT Silver been driven all the time. No idea about SLR. Wouldn't think so.
kiwi in another country spots this outside condo, sorry about quality used phone Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
1 CGT No Veyron's or SLR's, although I heard a rumor of a chap that was very keen on an SLR and has the freight to make it happen.....
A certain mondi si for sale...................... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Ferrari/Mondial/auction-271110078.htm Looks nice. I have seen this car in Gulf Harbour a few times.
They were an option on 512M's and a very expensive option at that. In the flesh they are quite different to the 360 sport seats.
11 years matey, time to move on, want to buy a sailing Cat to see the islands (thats assuming bloody Immigration let me stay!!!) Didn't make it to Ellerslie yesterday, I guess there was a huge turnout?
Yep, good turn out, even with the rain. Cars were excellent as usual, Warren's 250 Lusso won masters class, it's stunning and is very deserving of the award. Not many photo's as the morning didn't go as planned and I got trapped at the show with out my camera, excellent day though.
