    I have posted this in another forum, but never got any responses. I figured that since there is a whole bunch of people in there that don't read the other forum that I might give it a try.

    "I did a search and couldn't find it, so I am posting here. Back in the early 90s there was a race between a 456 (I think) versus an airplane in Road & Track or Car & Driver. It took place somewhere in Texas. I remember one part of the article where a truck driver said something about it being a Corvette that passed him.

    My question is what issue was this reported in? I want to buy that issue so I can read that article again.

    I don't know the issue, but I am pretty sure it was Car & Driver (not R & T).

    It was definitely Car and Driver. I remember the article- the plane was a Mooney, as I recall, and the 456 had an ex-cop spotter with binoculars riding shotgun.

    Don't know what issue it was, though.

    In their 50th Anniversary Issue (I believe), Car & Driver claimed that it was years before Ferrari lent them another press car after this race. Top Gear has humorously popularized this stuff now, but at the time it was a very creative idea.

    The last paragraph...
