Is it the same forcefield that makes them drive with the parking lights on during the day or is that an automatic safety feature or something. Those Corvette parking lights illuminated during the day are totally annoying.

Yeah right, if he was driving a ZR1 down the highway he'd be in the left lane doing 60 in a 70 just as sure as my post coffee a.m. dump.

If I owned a Vette, I would immediately deactivate those lights, they are aweful.

    Hold one.

Let me check my Vacheron watch, see if I an spare a minute to discuss this.

Hang on, my Blackberry is ringing, Jeeves is answering it now.

It's my investment counselor calling to give me good news about the IPO.

Ok, where were we? Oh, right, some Ferrari guys are egocentric dorks with money.

Do I still have time to talk with you about this? Nope. I'll have my girl get back to you to se when you can have some face to face time.

This thread doesn't apply to me at all - I'm better than that, now that I have a Ferrari.

Yup. I agree. To generalize -

At track events, Viper owners hate the Porsche owners.

At car shows the Corvette owners refused to talk to the Viper owners.

On the internet Lambo owners hate Ferrari owners.

At the end of the day..all these respective clubs all have some pretty nice people with a few arrogant jerks to ruin it.

and for another take on it..... I've been to Italian-only car shows and have hung around the differing factions, and even within the Ferrari "faction" are tiers and caste systems that shun and condescend to the other.

But not to mistake my post for an anti-Ferrari tone, some of the most a$$holish people I've seen driving, at least by how they drive, are BMW owners, particularly in LA. Yes I am bordering on bigotry, but it's just a fact.

And someone made comment about internet hate groups among car factions, eg, Lambo owners outspokenly hateful to Ferrari, that is also true. I don't quite understand it either. It probably has to do with inferiority complex, and the hate is overcompensation for that.

Similar conditions exist within Japanese factions, with the Evo/GT-R crowd often buddying-up and hating Honda together with glee. But the poor Honda people like both the Evo and GT-R.

Corvette forums tend be a mixed bag of folks, you have the extreme rednecks who have zero tolerance for anything but Corvette, and you have the younger owners who appreciate myriad marques, foreign and domestic. Personally, I'm not really a Vette guy, but I'd have a C6 Z06 or ZR1.

The absolute worst forum I've ever been on insofar as arrogance and condescension is 6speedonline, whereas, despite their forums for differing makes, they are in actuality, unofficially, a Porsche forum.

There is knowledge and good folks, down to earth people, on each site, in all factions, but you have to admit that some of the generalizations are true. It's just the way it is.

Whenever you see a Ferrari in front of a trendy restaurant, 9 times out of 10, it doesn't take too long to figure out who drove it there..... ;)

Now that is funny! True, but funny!

My company has a bike/auto show each year where employees, ex employees and local businesses come by and show off their machines. What I've found is that everybody loves their brand; be it Italian, German, British, American Muscle or Iron, IH tractors, whatever, but also appreciates the passion each person has by bringing their product to display! It comes down to a simple fact, as an enthusiast we all love machinery.

I've always been partial to the Italian constructions: Lambo, Mazerati, Alfa Romeo, and Ferrari... hell I always loved the little Fiat 2000 spider too. On two wheels it's been Ducati and MV Agusta that got my blood to boil. To me their creations have a soul. Now I've always appreciated the Jap bike for it's technology, I loved my old FJ, but it lacked a "soul". <shrug> On the American front, you can't beat the rumble of an early American V8 flat head, with the popping and stuttering at low RPM, and then throaty bellow at full throttle...

Let's face it, if it requires oil, spark, and rubber it's good in my book! Hmm, that reminds me of Valentines Day <scratching head grinning>

This reminds me of a fridge magnet I put up one day. It said, "I love my wife, but I worship my car".

She then found & put one below it that read, "If it has tires or testicles, it will give you trouble."

    Touche'!

    Gotta love them both...

So true, ive owned ducati and an MV street bike. I would go into my garage with a glass of wine or a beer and just look at them, however racing them was a different proposition, i had a suzuki gsxr for that and it was a tool. very capable, easy to ride fast, but i didnt admire the beaty or have the same connection as i did with the ducati and MV.
I have a P car now, i love it, but not in the same way as i used to love the ducati and MV, thast why im luking on this forum,
    anyway
    cheers

    I find the whole thing S T U P I D.

And if you play that game you are S T U P I D too.

If anyone defines themselves or others by the car they drive; they are mentally shallower than a 2" deep Lake Superior and have an appendage shorter than a nanometer lightwave.

AS a VERY "high-up" in Ferrari once said, "A true friend can NEVER be an owner or customer." That applies to all ...... NO?

I'm guilty. I admit it. I am an owner and admittedly no friend to my love .... Ferrari.
