edit: Almost done with mine. The exhaust is in and on looks alone is worth the purchase. However, I love the new sound of the engine. It's not TOO loud, but it definitely gets your attention. I haven't driven it yet as I need to adjust the spring bolts on the brackets so that the exhaust tips aren't touching the grill.

This really does feel like the "deal of the year"!

Rick, I'm glad to know it's going well! If you can get a video clip soon, we'd love to hear it...

Any idea how much adjustment you can get from those spring connectors? I have it just touching the grill on the left right now. If I could get at least a little space, that will be great. That spring is currently not screwed even halfway down, but I don't really know how it works (ran out of time due to Super Bowl party to attend).

I'll upload a video some time this week.

Rick, I have no clue regarding how the Mondial exhaust mounts up. Sorry...

Roberto, I looked at mine again and it's not even 1/4" off center (maybe 1/8-3/16 at the most), now that I have it all installed properly. Attaching those spring brackets helped a lot. I'm considering ordering a set of hi-flows for mine as well. I'm anxious to hear how yours sounds with the full package...

It is possible to "fine tune" the alignment of the exhaust system when installing it if you use new gaskets at all four connections (both ends of the Cats) and tighten everything up carefully. It's a bit tricky to get just right but it's likely to give you a little more precision if you're really fussy.

In reality, once it's on the car and a few inches from the ground, a small fraction isn't going to matter to most people.

Here is a question. Is the heat shield still needed? It looks as though there is a lot more space around and above the muffler. I thought the heat shield was only to protect the top of the engine bay from the upper OEM muffler which no longer exists in this set-up. I would love to leave mine off.

I would still leave them in place, the heat could still cause a discoloration of the hood paint or the melting of the back light plastics .... why taking the chance !

My understanding is $1100 for just the muffler and $1800 with cats, shipping included ....

I installed my new hyperflow cats today. Great fit and WOW!!! They made a big difference in both sound and performance, especially above 4000 RPM but it's not overwhelming inside the car. (I even think my wife might still ride with me...). :) Will try to get another sound clip posted later this week.

Unfortunately, I damaged one of the thermocouples during the installation. If anyone knows where I might find a used one, please PM me.:eek::eek:

I am do to my new cats/exaust install this weekend, I have been preparing my self for all the things that have to be done for this project and I surely considered the fact I could damage the sensors when taking them out from the old cats. Did you find the cat replacement hard to do, specially to unscrew the old rusty nuts and bolts ? How did happen you damage one of the sensors ?
As far as performance goes, I always thought, against other mates idea about it, that Hi Flows will give you a better improvement over the exhaust alone replacement. But this is just my thought and i could be completely wrong.

Roberto, I found it all fairly simple to do. The cats would probably have come off easier had I sprayed on some nut/bolt lubricant the day before (duhhh - didn't think of that until I started to take the cats off today, so I have a few skinned knuckles as a result). After removing the heat shields and exhaust, I used a floor jack and did one side at a time (old off, new on) - one set of nuts/bolts from the top side and one set from underneath (front and back). You might want to test the fitment of your thermocouples before bolting on the cats. Since I did one side at a time, I learned that lesson on the first side. It seems that the shaft inside the cats weren't as deep as the probe is long. I cut the first one shorter hoping it would only affect the metal part of the sensor (yes I know - stupid, stupid, stupid thing to do... what an ameteur!!! lol). I knew right away it was the wrong choice when I saw the wires and lining inside. On the second cat, I drilled into the fitting and through the internal lining of the cat, and it worked just fine. Then I went back and drilled out the first one, since I knew I would need to purchase a replacement thermocouple.

Got mine in today. Very nice, can't wait to install it, hopefully this weekend.

It took me forever to unpack it. They use British tabloid newspapers for packing material. The Page 3 girls are most excellent! :D

Mine was actually bubble wrapped very nicely. Don't want to concern anyone that the exhaust is not well protected for shipping.

The box was a bit larger than the bubble wrapped exhaust, so they used all the wadded up paper to take up the extra space.

Tomorrow is my installation day, the old exhaust system (cats and muffler) is out already and waiting for DHL to drop off in the morning. The entire operation took about 2 1/2 hours, spent some extra time been careful no to damage the sensors, everything went well. Can't wait to experience the final product !
