A simple question. I am wondering how many F355 owners on this forum are planning to keep their F355s long-term? You know, make them part of the family. I really didn't want to do a simple poll, as I would like to hear comments as to the reasons.

I, personally, plan to keep mine. I may, hopefully, add a 458 Italia in a few years, if our two chemotherapy drugs are approved by the FDA, but I'll always keep (and love) my F355 Berlinetta.

I've had my 355 since 2006, almost 4 yrs--which is longer than I keep most cars---but will sell it today for the right price....

Barring any unforeseen job/financial change I plan on keeping mine for a long time. I'd sell for the right price to a true enthusiast--I posted an ad on FChat but none on any other sites.

Went and looked at a 2010 MBZ C63AMG today. HOT car...but at $80k...the excitement level wasn't there. I'd take my 355 over that car any day.

I had mine for about 5 years, I always said I would never sell it. I loved the car. Then I sold it and purchased a CS. You never know what will happen.

I have had my F355B since 2001, 8 years. I love this car. My wife hates it and has offered the family-cash to trade it for a new Z06. Yet I feel more inclined to hold onto it for another 8 years.

2yrs and they are staying put. It is my favorite Ferrari of all time. I love working on them driving them and looking at them. I could have bought a 430 but I just love my 355s. Even though I have made a removable hardtop I would even consider a berlinetta to add to the 2 spiders.

Have had my 355B for just over a year now. I actually took back my deposit on a 2009 C63 AMG in order to get the F-car last year. Merc is a great car (much better as a DD), but nothing like having the 355. I hope to keep this car for the longterm, because I've always loved the style of the BB, 308, 328, 288 and the 355 seems to emulate these cars. However, the 458 Italia is really in my opinion the most beautiful ferrari to come out of the factory in the last 10 years, with performance to match. Can you imagine the CS/Scuderia version of the 458? That would be an amazing car, and if the opportunity presented itself in the future, I likely would grab one of those even if I had to sacrifice the 355 for it.

Had mine 2 1/2 years now and at some point I'm sure I'll let her go for a CS, 430, or 458 (if I'm lucky) If I was one of those people lucky to have a ton of money I would get the "new" model every time one came out. To me it's a great car and I love the look but at the time it was what I could afford, If I could have got into a 360 2 years ago I would have. I've always been one to trade up for the next/new car and this one will be no different..

That's the only car I would give up the 355 for. A CS just isn't in the cards right now and I love the 355. Just having the belt service done and it will be as good as new again!

I absolutely love the car, plan on spending $$$ on upkeeping her in good shape rather than lose $$$ in depreciation with a newer Ferrari.

Maintenance cost - How I see it is that instead of losing $$$ in terms of depreciation and insurance, I'll simply divert that cash to upkeep the car in good shape. And since the 355 is so much cheaper than the newer cars, the diff in price alone allows me to divert the difference to investments which in turn, help to pay for the car's upkeep.

Real World speed - The 355 is fast enough in 95% of all road situations except wide open highways with no speed traps but she is not exactly slow when running with Gallardos, 430s. The 458 will be a whole new dimension though. My only gripe is the lack of lower end torque which means you got to keep her at 5k rpm and more for immediate shove.

Experience - The car is beautiful, no arguments on that ground. And at any F-Club meet, you'll see hoards of 360s/430s but so few 355s. And that sound behind you when you open up.....

    Need I say more?
So let's hear it from the boys who do not intend on keeping the 355.

Had mine for just over 6 years it's the longest I have had any car by a long margin (4 years for a Porsche 911 3.2 carrera) had had no serious thoughts about changing or selling it.

Ive only owned my 355 since September at this point do not have any thoughts of letting her go. I tend to collect rather than replace. My 86 328 GTS 33K has been mine for the last twenty two years.

I have had a 355 for 4 years now and have no plans to change. Maybe a 360 CS would make me change my mind as I am doing more and more track days. But it is still hard to think about parting from this car. If I can I will keep it and buy another one when that day comes...

The 355 is a piece of art to be respected, driven, and cherished.... until the next owner.

I may never sell, but I'm sure it will outlast me.
