Well got the vette at Randy's garage ready to get started to take the motor out for the rebuild! Wish us luck! Oh and on the way to Randy's, the small ten mile run one way good ol' Robert gets a speeding ticket for 85 in a 65, nice huh! $176 fine for me, oh boy! LOL! Guess all you can do is laugh about it when you get caught, you get caught....

Done by the end of March. I said I may have the engine out by the end of March. Scott its to bad you have a twin Vette in town because I know its nice to have the only one in town.

Robert also didnt tell you his wife drove by as he was getting his ticket.

Deon pointed out to me it was a year ago when we had our first get together. So would be long until the fun can start again.

Thats sweet as hell! I saw one online in the blue color that is going for $110,000 I think it only had like 740 miles on it. Who knows maybe one of these days I'll hit the lottery and will be able to get one.

Well we had some fun today specially since Deon came a little earlier to help!! I think he actually got his pinky finger dirty today! LOL!! We did quite a bit done today though, Randy will be putting up some more pics. We got the headers and heads off as well as pulling the plugs and wires, push rods and rocker arms.

Had to pull the new headers and x-pipe out today to see what it would look like up to the old system, she's gonna be super loud!!

The white matter in my head got dirtier than my pinky figuring out why it is easier to pull a Lamborghini or Ferrari engine ...and then I got it: Lamborghini/ Ferrari setup is designed so you can remove the engines.

Oh my south african friend, corvette engines were meant to stay where it belongs for most of its life, unlike some italians who spend a fair share of its life on a hoist ;) Gotta love them italians though!!!!

I have figured a simple method to remove a Corvette engine.

    1. Drain Fluids and disconnect plumbing. (Very important).
    2. Disconnect wiring harness.
    3. Disconnect and remove exhaust and headers.
    4. Remove bellhousing bolts.
    5. Flip the car upside down. (I am working on a patent/design for this device).
    6. Remove engine mounting bolts.
    7. Remove steering rack.
    8. Place cherry picker over the upside down car and pull engine.

Reverse the procedure to get the engine back.

LOL!! Good one Deon, don't we wish it was that easy!! Well the big wigs from Autozone corporate are coming to talk to me today about the Stillwater position, as I thought the job was a go I guess it's their decision that makes it a go. The district manager wants me, he was the one that interveiwed last Friday, now its Tuck, the Regional manager Todd and the top Human Resourse manager, Grant. I am very well dressed today in my best Autozone attire with polished black shoes and all my lapel pins and name tag in place!!

Looks like you guys only removed the water pump. I will have to get out there and get my other pinky dirty to speed things up.

Actually we got the motor mount bolts and two of the tranny bolts removed by the firewall, now I'm debating on putting in new 34lb injectors and MSD coil packs so it may be next year before it gets done with the money I'm putting into it. Like you said do it right the first time!

This looks like the summer of repair instead of the summer of driving
