I have recently purchased an '81 308 and can't possibly be more pleased with this car. The only thing I am not crazy about is that the steering wheel seems to be tilted too high for my taste. I noticed a bolt and nut on the botton in a slot and thought that I could adjust the tilt by loosening but no luck. Does anybody know if there is a way to change the angle of the wheel slightly?

I see the nut and bolt you point out in your reply. Is this a normal thing to do? Or is it intended to be in the current position?

It's meant to be adjusted as desired -- nothing sacred about its "current position". Often, they get adjusted into the (horrible ;)) "full up" tilt position to give more clearance underneath the steering wheel rim to aid ingress/egress. My preference was to add a 2" spacer between the steering wheel and the steering wheel hub, go to a 320 mm diameter steering wheel, and go to the "full down" tilt position:

I will certainly give this later this week and see what I come up with. I see what you mean about the clearance to get in and out of the car. Thanks for the help!

Image Unavailable, Please Login Old thread but went with Steve’s recommendation - 2” spacer (50mm) and full tilt down. I’m 6’4” and a big guy, and this gives me a nearly perfect steering wheel position (bottom of palm arm fully extended is just over the top of the steering wheel. Safer this way in the event of a crash, not having arms fully locked and extended forward.

You could get the 50mm MOMO Hill Engineering spacer SWS02B from Ricambi America and then add a thin MOMO-to-Nardi Adapter (if you can't find a direct 2" Nardi extension).

First time in 35 years I've ever heard of this as "adjustable". Haven't seen it mentioned as such in any manual.
