Going through pictures that I needed to transfer I came across this group and thought you might like to see them. It is a group of pictures taken of the installation of the Lemans grill on my 348. The process is straight forward with a little trimming of the tail light frame needed. A special thanks to my friend Denny who stepped in as I just could not allow myself to trim the openings. Total install time of about 4 houours with much of it in the final fitting stage.

I think it really updates the rear end!

Really looks good against the yellow.

Does anyone have pics of this grill installed on a red car?

I would like to see the red car pics as well. I know some people had some issues with how far the lights stuck out or what angle they were facing. Some people want it level with the ground and some kits had them facing slightly upward or recessed too much. What was your finding?

They absolutely do not face upward - they face straight back. Whether they are too 'recessed' is a matter of interpretation, and they can be adjusted during the installation for more (or less) protrusion.

I've got one on my car, and really enjoy it.

If they are facing upward they aren't installed correctly, unless you happen to like them that way.

One guy in Canada installed his wrong and the only way I found out about it is he emailed me a pic of the car. I emailed him back and said "dude you've GOT to fix that straight away..." ;)

I'm forever indebted to Daniel, as he was one of the first installers of the LeMans Grill and was so gracious, because there were a multitude of problems with the first couple of units, especially my taillight wiring instructions which turned out to be just a mess. He and Steve in Vegas were the LeMans Grill pioneers and actually PAID for the privilege. Some awesome guys.

Daniel, you remember those late nights around New Years on the phone when we were trying to get your lights back to working? ;) It's funny now, but it wasn't so funny then.

Man, I REALLY like that grille.....I just can't bring myself to "trim" the body on my car. I have done it on midyear corvettes worth far more.....I have the "Ferrari worship" mental block. I agree though....looks incredible on a yellow car

It's only thin sheet metal and not part of the body per se - no one would ever know. It's behind the taillights - whether the new set-up or old. You can weld new strips on in a flash if you decide to go back to original, paint it all flat black, and no one would ever know the diff.

Steve, thanks for posting this. I really like how it looks, especially with the black wheels. Hopefully Husker will still have at least one of these grills left by the time I am able to convince my wife that I need to spend another $1700-$1800 on bling for my 348... :)

Hey jmiff348, I had the same problem with convincing another about spending the money, but was also worried about Husker running out. So my solution was to get my hands on the grill itself (the part diminishing in availability) ASAP, then buy the lights later. That way, you aren't taking the hit all at once. Sneak a purchase here, and a purchase there, and soon enough you have all the bits and parts needed. No problem!

Funny my wife thinks the 15K service on the car is $700. I guess I'm lucky.

Take your time and it's fine, it can all be put back if needed. I saved the metal just incase but never will go back to the dated look.

I just don't trust myself with the body after I drilled through my 308 quarter panel mounting something, oh yeah that was the day after I just got it back from the body shop. It was just hard telling the shop what I did and they maybe are still laughing today....

ah yes....I recall that YOU were the outlier...haha.

Actually that thing looks darn good in gloss.

When I was developing this with my dad, I bet we tried a dozen different paint schemes. One thing's for sure...if you don't like it, you can just rough it up with sandpaper and do it over! :)

reminds me of the time I tried some "home made" PDR on my Lexus SUV for some light hail on the hood. I actually did pretty decent on some of the dents but woeful on others. I ended up paying $200 to a body shop to fix it right and repaint it. ;)

Wow, looking at the pix of Roberto's grill, I can see that there are several differences between the way the later ones were made and the way mine was made!

The newer ones look MUCH better, as a "guinea pig" mine required significant grinding, trimming, and modification to get it to fit just right. But it was worth it, I love it!!
