I'm sorry to say, but +1.

The first thing I did when I got the car was read through every page of ALL the manuals, maybe that makes me a car nerd. In fact, I read every thread in f-chat relating to my car that I could before I got it...

Can't control myself either... Sorry, we really are nice guys.

    THUMBS UP!!! hi5 mate.
some of em arent being helpful. well i believe NO ONE would have actually read the manual cover to cover, even if there is....... like a 1/100. or eve made a full research and study on the car before initially buying it. i know some experts here might have actually OWNED the car like 5-10 years by now but...... Helloooo~~!

there are still new owners and honestly speaking im still fresh to a Ferrari. whatever it takes, when theres question please guide us out if u are trying to be helpful. not throwing your attitute like a F1 driver or the ferrari specialists around.

no offence mate.. spilling out what i feel about the talk ere...

Sorry that you have been treated like that. It was a good question, and if somebody knew the answer, they could have told you in one sentence, what it is, and in another what to do next (e.g. bring the car to the repair-shop, no need to worry,.. whatever). Sorry i am not an 360 expert, otherwise would have liked to help you. BTW-- I dont read the manual side by side either...

The point about reading the manual is not that you need to read the whole thing as soon as you get the car, though that would not be a bad idea, but that when you have a question such as this, you look to the manual to answer the question. Otherwise you seem like a child who has a dictionary but does not want to take the time to look up a word. That is why people do not like the question.

I did. In post 12, or did you not read the thread and just feel like condemming people for exercise? He had the information and either chose to ignore it or chose not to act upon it. Either way the ball was in his court.

    C'mon!

The used car dealers throw the books and tool kits in a big box in the Wash Rack, and sell them in the Flea Markets on Saturday!

EVERYONE knows that, what year /model do you need, I'll pick them back up for you!

    $12 USD.....

    Jessonlim,

Take a deep breath.......take a moment and fill out your Profile info, which helps in several areas, we know "what year, what model" and if you give a vague location, you might find neighbors or get a shop reccomendation of a good independent, that would save money and time.

The new Ferraris are chock full of crap electronics that can give false alarms, but if a tire is going down at 120+ MPH that's REAL important info the requires immediate action.

This week we've had some new guys show up and ask really simple questions.

We try to sort thru and help all of them that are sincere.

No joking tho, if you did NOT get the books/tools/leather boxes that are original equipment to the car, go back and shake your sales guy upside down as that stuff is REAL MONEY in the Ferrari World.

My 1977 books alone are $3.500.

What do you mean? I was just saying that I read my manuals when I got the car. The OP didn't say he didn't have his books, he just was asking about the icon and also commented that he didn't think people read their manuals. I take that to mean that OP doesn't read manuals, which is fine, that's his choice. I think people on the board get a little short fused when people ask for help without consulting the manual or doing a search on a topic that has been covered.

The original leather pouch, the Owners Manual, and all the various info cards and dealer network info.......no kidding, over $3K.

So missing books and tools are no laughing matter on the older cars.....

In Vintage they can run $10K easy, including the tools........and they are crappy tools! LOL!

It just sounded as if he did NOT have his books, as the dash light indicators are "in there".....

He still needs to read the manual.

I see it nearly everyday and its not just Ferrari owners....people just don't like to read anymore for themselves. I bet the words "Read your owner's manual" comes from my lips at least three times a week.

I'll bet the guy who hydro-locked his 360 engine by over filling when changing the oil himself (I heard about in Austin) wishes he had read the manual before paying for an engine overhaul ;-) I'm sure that was a cheap repair from FOA/FOH.

We refer to it as the top secret book in the glove compartment.

It should be read, cover to cover before operation of the car is allowed and it should be kept with the car for reference when needed..

I find it humorous that owners would rather rely on information they can get from nameless, faceless, so called experts on the internet when there is information from the people that built the car available to them if they would just go to the trouble of flipping through the pages.

Fair comment. But, it wasn't Brian who abused him - Rather he gave him the answer to the *exact* question posed along with a little friendly advice to RTFM.....

When I picked up my car from him he wasn't shy about telling me two things:

    1. RTFM
    2. Be "careful" with the Spider top, other than that the car is "bullet proof".

I heeded (generally ;)) this advice and it's served me well.

    Cheers,
    Ian

flippin thru the manuals are essential but somehow we couldnt get the "EXACT" possible answers for each cases. like above, the suspension faulty icon can represent different possible reasons.

shocks faulty, oil leaking, technical problem, ecu might even tell mistakes, and other possible outcomes from the icon.

u guys are experience, so i could have got a firm answer from experts here that what are the common problems that have caused this icon showing up.

    agree mat3?

It requires connecting it to the Ferrari diagnostic computer to diagnose.
