This is my first Ferrari and the passion and acknowledgement that one receives on the road can't be measured in any terms.
I feel I share mine with everyone on the road and at petrol stations is the real buzz where people come up and ask about the car....it's simply fantastic and the F430 coupe in traditional red and a current model is something that most people downunder never see all that often.
I presume it is like that in the states as well.
I can't imagine getting that kind of kudos with a Porsche, BMW, Benz or other than maybe a Lambo.

The car doesn't have to prove a thing because the marque has done that already in past history.
The 430 has a presence all of its own, I guess it's the stance, the height and the width of this supercar!

    I just love it!

    Anyone else feel the same?
    Rob.

I joined the f-car just last summer, and I have already noted several benefits of owning an f-car.

Yes we all know about the symphony of sounds, the performance benefits, etc..etc.

One benefit I have experienced that was a bit unusual, happened I think it was the second week I had the car, I was out one evening enjoyuing the car, minding my own business, I pulled up to light, I didnt even pay attention to the fact that another car pulled up beside me. I heard someone from the other car yell HEY YOU IN THE FERRARI! I looked over, an exceedingly attractive blond (yes she was blond) young lady was leaning out of the car, big smile on her face, she proceeded to flash her rather bountiful chest at me.

Yes, f-car ownerships does have benefits. :)

    Lucky!

I may not have a Ferrari yet, but just wait!

Only one person has ever said something about my car. It was when I first got the 2009 CTS-V.

Someone pulled next to me and a DUDE said thats a badass ride.

Problem is it's my wife's car. No one is EVER going to complement my Jeep Patriot!

    Poseurs ....

Owning a Ferrari is all about the driving experience - not what other people think about you or look like. In fact IMO it's a downside to owning a Ferrari all the atention they attract.

How do they say "baloney" across the pond?

Take a hammer to your car, scratch it with a scouring pad, have some local holligans spray paint grafitti on it, and splash the interior with the ink from several ball point pens and stale beer. Lastly, don't wash it for a few months so that there's a fine covering of half rained on mud covering it. Oh, add a few "wash me" scribbles.

Now... go do your "driving experience" and tell me it's all the same.

BTW: I met some really fine people -- just ordinary people -- when driving this car. I don't see the harm in that.

I mean... what do YOU care if people think? It's all about your experience in the driver's seat, right? What it looks like means nothing. It's all about the driving.

The most wonderfull experience with my F430 is when I share it with children. jesus, it's there dream to sit in such car and one day, you pass by and give them a chance to realise this dream! I have seen such deep thankfull expressions in there eyes, whaaaw! For sure, the mums aren't far away :D and sometimes the mums can forget they have children :D

This weekend, when I was at the station refueling the car, a nice couple came towards me and told me how great it was to see such cars come out again on the street after a long winter ;) They congratulated me also for the perfect condition of the car and the very shiny red paint. Always very pleasant to hear.

Yes indeed, the F430 is really wonderful thing to own, to watch, to drive with, to sit in, to share...

This is why I posted this thread.
Came about when I was in line paying for my petrol when a guy came up to me and said...." my son has asked me to tell you that you have a really cool car." I was so proud!
I guess the youngster was less than 12 but hey if it excited him, then that's what Ferrari is all about.

I get the odd toot from passers bye and the occasional wave too.
But the stares and jaw dropping is amazing.

I think the chick thing is a myth though as I'm no George Clooney.LOL

    Great comments.
    Rob.

A matter of where you live. In my town, I rarely get gas station attention as there are so many lux cars around. The choice becomes put up with the aTention or move to Naples. LOL

Fantastic car! So much better than the 360 (which is pretty terrific anyway), its hard to conceive how the 458 could be much better, although I'm sure it will be!

And after having test drove the 458, I can confirm it is much better. Just unbelievable but, yes, the difference IS huge. The 458 is something made ready today, and to be loved in a couple of years.

Never ceases to amaze me that in a modern Ferrari, I never get anybody not letting me into traffic.
They all want to ogle at the car and get a chance to sit behind it close up.

And lots of acknowlegement toots on the horn as well.

That is great to hear Rob! :D:D

I still get a lot of toots on the horn, a lot of smiles and waves here also. :):)

And Ive had the car here for 5 yrs. Some work mates tell me they still havent seen it getting around. I said in the last 5 yrs they must have been living under a rock somewhere. :D:D

This place is small, so I would have thought they would have seen me get around by now. :D:D

Again, good to hear you are enjoying that wonderful machine Rob! :):)
