    I was thinking of buying an 02 or 03 but I am concerned about servicing costs. Drive during good weather only. How tempermental are these cars to keep on the road?

    2002 F360 F1 Spider. No problems. The transmission light came on once. Dealer thought it was an electrical sending error after driving the car at 12,000 ft above sea level. there was nothing wrong with the car. :)

    1998 F355 F1 GTS...lots of problems. :(

    When you get a moment go to the 360 area and read the thread at the top then spend a long while reading other interesting looking threads and you'll get a really good idea of what you are letting yourself in for

    I have not found mine to be tempermental at all mechanically. It is a thrill to drive and sticks to the road like glue. My biggest overall problem is that I find rear visibility is very limited and as such it is not my first choice for short trips around town. A buddy who has driven it thinks that I have the seat too low. As soon as the snow clears I'll give it a shot, but I do like the car. :)

    Jim, (first of all welcome!), can you give us an annual number that identifies your "tipping point" on servicing costs? i.e at what dollar figure would you become concerned?

    I would tell you, however, that I believe you are contemplating the purchase of the F model that presents the optimal combination of performance, styling and (knock on wood) reliability. :)
