I'm not sure if thats a typo, but 8MA652 would have been built in early 1969, probably even mid 69, but it wouldn't be a 1967 car. You can ask for the date codes from the windows, which are really simple and easy to figure out. Shown here is a date code of "8" and "F", which is 1968 and June respectively. June is the 6th month corresponding to "F" which is the 6th letter. There IS a burgundy Mangusta, a very early model, that has been deemed a 1967 (8MA-508) . I wonder if maybe you are getting two Mangustas mixed up, which is easy to do. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Frank - haha...the 'tease' continues....seriously, I wanna mount them up and do a drive/photoshoot, but it just has to wait....many contributing factors, not limited to the roads - this shot was taken YESTERDAY, NOT Mangusta weather shots I just took with better light in the dark garage and a splash of color ...that 'berm' is over 20 feet high of snow for contrast :/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
JM3, thanks for setting this matter straight. I knew something about the info I posted was squirrely, as the various internet sources I found couldn't agree on the year of manufacture of the car in question.
Mike, Congrats on getting the set complete! With all that snow it looks like fun to be had with the Scooby though, enjoy, don't prnag it!
thanks Jack and thanks again for consideration on all things Mangusta wheels! yeah, I'm a menace in the 'scooby', don't even have to slow down for slick roads, lol! I'm up everyone's arse in stormy conditions = you know, superior ride

Greetings, all. The gentleman who is restoring orange Mangusta 8MA-882 in Mexico City recently wrote to ask if I might help him find a (minus $100) replacement for its 2 inch diameter, black-bezel dashboard clock, which recently (and mysteriously) disappeared from the shop where work is being performed on his 'goose. Any help would be appreciated. I can be contacted at [email protected], and will relay info to him in Spanish. Thanks on his behalf. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The clock will be the easiest gauge to find, you better keep an eye on the rest of them. Jay try wilkinson panteras
Greetings, all. The present owner of Mangusta 8MA-882 (in its original, "pumpkin orange" color) informs me that it has been entered in a concours d'élégance to be held the weekend of April 17-18, 2010 near Mexico City. Not exactly Pebble Beach or Villa d'Este, but not shabby, either. He promises to send me photographs of the event, and I will attempt to post (if he gives me permission to do so) one or two here. Wish I could attend the event, as this is the first Mangusta I laid eyes on, during my youth in Puebla, MX. I confess I feel like a dilettante, posting to this forum, as I've never even had a chance to ride in a Mangusta. Just trying to help keep the forum alive by posting. A splendid weekend to all...
Hey guys under the same theme of Mangusta, I am looking for a lighter element for mine. It was missing when I got the car. It is not a normal NAPA item. I have taken this pic from another car I am lucky to use as a reference from time to time. it's lighter is marked FALCOS 12v and it is 21mm dia and 25mm from tip to the shoulder. xks.com Might have some. Problem is that Falco made several different units all different lengths, sometimes it's easier to buy the whole unit, it's never easy!

I don't think that Mangustas had lighters with the red cigarette picture on them, like the eBay lighter. Mine doesn't. The Falcos 12v wording is correct. Since we are hunting for Mangusta items, anybody have any Mangusta toolkit tools (or just the bag) for sale? How about the radio holder and trinket tray combo for sale?
No they didn't but it would be possible to buff off the red paint, many of these parts are used by Iso cars too, so parts are getting more difficult to find.
The eBay lighter is correct diameter, too long. Yes many of these were common, remember there were many auto manufacturers in a small community ( Ferarri, lambo, detomaso, bizzarinni, ISO, Alfa, Fiat to name a few. Not a ton of suppliers, so many were shared As to to the bag. One owner is in the process of having a few made. PM me your info will forward to him.
