Only 4 weekends away. Jennie, Mia, and I are going regardless as we enjoy Fredericksburg. I have only heard from our Sponsor Monarch who wants to bring something down and hang out.

If no one else is interested this year I'm going to unblock the rooms and just make it a family trip.

Only one more room available. With the wedding party the hotel will probably be full past our 5 rooms, but there are other places close by every price range.

 

Jennie may have to work Friday morning, so later Friday arrival instead of Friday morning.

There is one room still available, maybe two. Greg Scott will let me know Tuesday if he can go. Possible Rippes might drive down. First come first serve on the rooms.

Actually, anyone signed up for a room (except Monarch) call down there and switch one of the rooms to your name from 'Rob Lay' so you will be responsible.

 

fist come first serve, but it is a cluster right now. I can't win either way. I'm responsible for the 5 rooms and dealing with people planning last minute coming and going, but then if I didn't get the block no one would have gotten a room.

I will put you down for a Saturday room. I need to contact Monarch to confirm them.

Russ, when can you tell me for sure about a room? Everyone would love to see the T-28 even if you can just come up for a couple hours Saturday and go back, or even just Friday evening?

 

that's the way we look at it, we like going down anyway and more people is more fun. at some point I just need to finalize the rooms so not stuck with charges.

 

Jennie just found out she doesn't have to work Friday morning, so we'll be leaving morning! I have made at least 3 trips there, but haven't yet toured the military museums. I hope to motivate for that Friday.

 

I'm getting excited now. One of my favorite trips of the year.

Holay's plan to arrive late morning, lunch downtown, and then Nimitz museum (http://www.nimitz-museum.org ). Happy hour Officer's Club and then plan dining by ear. We do have a rental car.

Saturday morning tentatively take easy and then fly-in Tillman posted sounds good for driving or flying to. Saturday night Officer's Club and dining by ear.

I released one of the rooms tonight. There is still one available and Monarch has first dibs on it. Monarch hasn't logged on in a few days, so I should know for them tomorrow. In case Monarch can't make it anyone let me know if you want to be on wait list for that room.

Also since I released that other room and maybe some in the wedding party cancel you may still be able to get a room outside my block.

I'm just trying to avoid paying $160 a night for a room not being used.
