That should be the new body style for ALL their Boxter and Cayman models.

Yeah it may not support a very substantial/usable roof panel the way it is now. Given the way Lotus did the Elise/Exige, there might be a way to do a hardtop-and-softtop all in one thing. But you're right, the roofline is going to be hard to maintain as on the prototype.

Also I think those side pipes might be ruled out for safety reasons, and the wheels look a bit 'x-ray' for real life.

    Fingers crossed...

The Carrera GT was perfect, so unfortunately anything they produce afterwards will disappoint :) This doesn't look bad though, aside from the rims.

I like the CGT's front end better. I like this one's rear more, though. It seems like a cool evolution of the CGT's rear end.

I love the side exhausts--so much better than the ridiculous and impractical affairs on Cobras, Merc-McLaren SLRs, etc. Otherwise, I think the side could do with looking a little less ribbed, but part of that is the sheen caused by the reflections from the silver paint--in solid colours, that would probably go away. I like it a lot, but it could improve a little bit.

The front is just ugly IMO. The wheel arches need to be more subtle, the light arrangement looks like a poor copy of Ferrari's designs, and it's just bulbous and ungainly.

the front lights reminds me of a California. Whats the point of side exhuast on the mid engine car? DOnt like the wheels. I hope it more aerodynamic than the original.

This is definitive not the Carrera GT successor... Too plain lines.

Which is an excellent point. I was VERY disappointed that some of the design cues of the Boxster prototype were deleted or heavily modified in the production car. Still a great car, but...

Don't despair. The Boxster, being the entry level, must be built to a price. The flagship can be more extravagant.

I'm confident the finished product will cleave close to this, minus the side pipes. Make it light and fun like the cgt and I'll be a buyer.

Is it me or does the front end look like the Ford GT?

Oh god... here we go with this. Just like when every new Ferrari comes out.

Yes, it has two headlights in the front... so surely it looks just like a Kia. It has 4 wheels too!

Nope, Ford GT has a squared off snout. This is much more fluid.

i have always had a 911 or 930 since college. i have always loved ferraris but have first and foremost considered myself a "porsche guy".

this car is the first porsche i will lust for since the 930. and guess what...this car will be homologated and win everything in true porsche fashion!

just imagine what the factory race cars will look like!!!!!

As both a Porsche and Ferrari Fan, I would buy this car in a heartbeat. It looks fantastic, and with Porsche's build quality it would be amazing. The design IMHO is just fabulous. Jon (bullfighter) is spot on with his critique regarding designs as always.
