When I lock my doors via the remote, the doors lock, the system "chirps" and then a second later it chirps FOUR times. This is a fairly new problem.

My thoughts are one of the "switches" in either the front hood, the rear engine cover, the doors or possibly the convertible top (??) is showing an open. I am hoping the 4 chirps would tell me which one it may be.

Does anyone know if this is indeed the case and if the 4 chirps tell me which one it may be? I can go try and check each pin but I was hoping to save some teardown but going right to the point.

    What I have noticed....
    - Both doors do indeed lock when closed.
    - If either or both doors are open, the doors do not lock. Same 4 chirps afterward
    - Opening either the rear hatch, front hood or having both open (and doors closed) , doors lock...same 4 chirps.
    - Have not done any testing with the convertible top though I seem to remember that in the past that if the top was down, it had no affect on the alarm.

    Any ideas? Solutions?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Mark

When this happened to mine, it was the sensor for the front hood. It had bent slightly and it was not contacting with the hood closed. You can push the sensors manually with your fingers. Try closing everything, then open things one at a time and push the sensor manually to see if the issue is resolve. If the issue is a bent sensor, then you will find the bent one this way. If it is a bad sensor, then you may be able to find it by having the system read with an SD2.

Just to let you know that is EXACTLY what was wrong with mine.....The "pin" bracket in the front was bent not allowing the pin to "close". This cause the alarm issue. 20 minutes later, fixed the bend re-installed and all is well!!

    Thank You for your reply!!
