We are black brothers. Joe has a backseat- it's the family bat mobile. Hey you need to post your Egyptian Indy Anna Jones pics. Oh by the way, Shannon mentioned to me the kids are calling this state DelAska. Some say it because global warming melted the ice and made the oceans colder then normal hence the higher precipitation, cold and snow- Thanks to Al for explaining this and inventing the internet. However, we know it's really due to Jon's new and never been used Scuderia.
We would love to have you! The event is open to: 1) Ferrari chatters and their significant others or children. 2) No SUVS, except those serving as support vehicles, as they pose a visibility problem and safety problem to the smaller cars. We will meet up at the Iron Skillet Restaurant in Elkton Maryland, with a firm departure time for 10:00am. From there we will travel through Maryland, Delaware and up into Pennsylvania towards Lancaster. This route will include some of the greatest hits from past drives and some beautiful places to stop and hang out. We will stop for an early dinner back in Maryland within close proximity of the Skillet and I-95. The trip will be approximately 150 miles and should take around 6-7 hours w/stops. As previously noted, I am asking that all participants make a small donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware, whatever they are comfortable with. My law firm will contribute up to $500.00 towards the cause in matching funds. Also, bufferbarry has graciously offered to do a full detail (as described earlier in this thread) to the person who donates the most! I am really excited about the interest level so far, I can't wait to meet all of you!
Yes, it is a Callaway SC652 Z06 Corvette. I do not think I will have any problems keeping up. ;-) I would also be more than happy to make a donation to the Boys and Girls club, it sounds like a good cause.
Thanks! We really appreciate your support. I hope your ride is finished by then. It sounds pretty spectacular. I'm going to add you to the list! On a serious note, although obviously you and Jerry (VGM911) are kidding, this is as good an opportunity as any to remind everyone participating or considering participating that this is a family friendly event and we will be driving at a leisurely pace. This is a chance to enjoy the first signs of spring on some beautiful roads with some great friends and wonderful cars. I am hoping participants will consider bringing their significant others and children were possible. The idea is NOT to scare the wife and kiddies.

Are kids still encouraged to come? I don't think mine have any interest in sitting in the back of the Mondial all day unless I put a DVD player in back there.
For those of you who are space challenged wife and/or kiddies are welcome to come. If you have a Mondi...well it's your call Obviously, the goal here is to have a nice long drive first. So if the wife and/or kids don't have an interest or the endurance to participate, I probably wouldn't encourage it.

I have some great news for everyone. John, Bob, Josh and I did the route today. It looks like it is going to be a blast. We will leave the restaurant formerly known as the Iron Skillet, now called the Travel Plaza restaurant in Elkton Maryland at 10:00. We will leave in groups of 5 and everyone will be given a set of detailed directions. We will travel approximately 120 miles to our first stop. All I can say publicly is that it is a nice little destination by the water. We will spend about a 1/2 hour there taking pictures and just hanging out. We will then travel another 30 miles to a great little restaurant for a late lunch at around 1:30. The restaurant has great food, is very laid back, and has excellent parking. They will section off an area for us that overseas the parking lot. The restaurant is about 15 minutes from our starting location and a short distance from I-95. As for the roads themselves, they are a wonderful mix of mountain roads, lake views, farmland and small towns. We have done our best to avoid bad roads, but everyone should expect that, depending on the weather in the days preceding the drive, their cars are going to get pretty dusty and there may be a few areas where gravel is still sitting on paved roads from the long winter....so if you are the type who trailers their prized beauty to and from car shows, this is NOT the drive for you. Finally, we are going to need up to three drivers to serve as team leaders. Bob and I will each be leading a group of five. Each team leader will have to have a cell phone and a navigator who is proficient at reading maps and following turn by turn directions. We have stayed away from heavily trafficked roads, but there always remains the possibility that your group will get separated from the rest, and we need leaders who are good with directions. Any of you who have previously PM'd me and are still interested, I would certainly appreciate your help! One last note, Bob, John, Josh and I would like to send our sincere regards to Tim the Squirrel's next of kin. Tim met a violent and unfair death today when he jumped in front of my car. Was it a suicide? we will never know, nor is it important. What is important is that they know he did not suffer. Little Tim, Rest in Peace.
Joe Zaff Killed Timmy! You Bass Terd. I really hope he went under the wheel of gorgeous Mondial. He deserved at least that...
Joe He's fine. I saw him this morning driving your mondial-check the garage. ps: He was mumbling some like dam Zaff always telling people I'm dead
Ok, I guess I will confess the entire disturbing story. I wasn't in the Mondial yesterday, I was in our new Mercedes. As we turned a corner, Timmy, the cute little squirrel was in the road eating a nut. Suddenly, the display turned red and the words "bekommen Sie ihn!" (GET HIM!) appeared. I tried to swerve, but the wheel locked up and the car suddenly accelerated. I heard a loud CRUNCH. A moment later, the words "bestätigt töten!" (CONFIRMED KILL!) appeared on my display, the car settled down and Richard Wagner started playing softly on the radio. It was very unnerving, but as I said earlier, I am certain it was a suicide I called Mercedes and they seemed rather nonplussed, but offered to see if they could duplicate the problem. OH THE HUMANITY!
No Curtis, I was an eye witness to the tragedy. He had nowhere to go...the Merc. was just humming along and I saw Timmy go right, then left, then right again and last I saw Timmy he was doing Gymnastics ( read tumbling head over tail) to his final resting place on the side of the road. It was strangely entertaining and tragic at the same time. Jon Happy in Delaware
"The squirrel world has been saddened by the tragic death of one of its most beloved citizens. Timmy the squirrel was killed over the weekend in a tragic traffic accident involving a white Mercedes-Benz. The accident was a hit and run - the driver was reported to have slowed down but did not stop. The entire squirrel community has responded with great sadness, and all squirrel offices are closed today, with flags being lowered to half-mast. Timmy served for two years with his local fire department, scaring cats out of trees for the firemen. He also served on his local planning board and zoning board. Timmy, at 5 years old, is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their three squirrel pups - David, Goliath, and Athos. He is also survived by his parents (Rob and Laura), eight brothers and sisters, and twenty-two cousins. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Northeast Maryland Continuing Care Retirement Community for Squirrels in Elkton, Maryland."
