    With spring just around the corner I'm starting to get excited now! What are your favorite drives in Westchester County? There is just so much damm traffic on the Bronx River, Sprain, Saw Mill, Etc. it seems impossible to drive freely without some idiot getting too close. 684 is better but boring and Troopers seem to be all over the place.

    Just wondering what you all have to say about driving here.

    Move up one county, Rt. 301 slices through Putnam, a nice streach of 55 MPH road that covers 13 miles, lots of twisties and sweepers. The best time is during the week, not crowded at all. Another area that has nice roads, Bear Mountain.

    Hi Bob,

    301, never thought of that...right off the Taconic. I did the Bear Mtn roads a few times as well.
    There are some nice drives around Bedford and Armonk as well.

    I've had the fever and have actually been on Google earth checking on roads from an aerial view and found a few that seem nice in the CT area. I'm going to plot them and run them in my RS4 first to check road quality. I'll PM you if they seem any good.

    rt 100 is a scenic route and the road is in decent shape but your speed is limited. taconic pkwy is full of potholes

    Rt. 22 is always a nice, easy drive.

    EDIT: Actually I was going down it today....wait until they fix up what winter did to it.

    Oh Dave,

    I DO remember that lovely little private road that you took me to last summer...at the end of it there was this gorgeous little stream, you know, that secret place where you laid out your Bed Bath and Beyond blanket for our moonlight picnic. I remember thinking that it was so nice that you remembered to bring those pretty candles that we bought last summer in Provedence, RI during the week of...you know..."The Parade".

    Anyway, I'm getting a bit "hot" now, so I'll end this bt saying that I'll call you tomorrow!

    Will do John. My car is snowbirding in the Carolinas still, but when she's back next month we'll hook up. Winter :( Spring :)
