i have gone for alonso to win this year on another poll; however vettel and massa cant be underestimated
Disagree, once he got anywhere near the back of Vettel his engine and tyres started to overheat plus the Ferrari team told both drivers to minimize revs and conserve fuel.
I was there for 4 days, pit walk on thursday, practice friday and saturday and the race on sunday. It was my first f1 since i was 15 at Silverstone. I loved it.. Bahrain is a very open circuit and you can easily mix with the drivers and their cars. on my way to the oasis stand, i was standing with my wife in a crowd of guys in fireproof race overalls, nigel mansell, Hill, etc.. they were all there! my only problem was having a 300mm lens and they were too close to take pics of. The race was'nt bad, Vettel's car sounded realy bad at one point, then a lap or so later Alonso went past him to a big cheer from the crowd, then Massa to an even bigger cheer. They said he was running on 7 cylinders with a duff spark plug although I can't see that as he kept his distance from Rosberg in the Merc. Schumacher got a huge cheer from the crowd on his wind down lap after the finish, he did realy well to get 6th. I'll post some pics later Cheers Nick
Agreed. Although, as the old say goes; catching is one thing, passing another. Title is between Alonso, Vettel, and Hamilton, I reckon.
It'll be a few races before Schumi is up to speed, by that time the others will be long gone. No reason why he can't challenge for wins this season (and I hope he does), but I don't see him in the championship hunt. All IMHO of course.
Well, as you said, I'm not sure he'll be challenging for the title himself this season, but if he beats a few title contenders on the track once he gets going, he could very much "be a threat" and influence the championship by challenging for races and taking points from the title contenders. Even at his age and after three years away, he was still reasonably quick. He will hit his stride once again - mark my words. He's got a 3-year contract, so I reckon he'll be challenging for the title itself in those remaining two years. After that, we'll see if he wants to extend his drive... it'd be interesting to see if he can add another title. All the best, Andrew.

Great Pics Nick, I got more pleasure from them than the GP it was DULL, DULL, DULL Schui isnt going to be a race winner, too old now. Though he will have more grace than Our Nige did on his comeback. Suspect he's repaying Mercedes for giving him his break in sports car racing. Lets hope for something to liven it up... just my thoughts of course...
Cool pics, Nick. In other news, it seems Ferrari gave away almost 10 seconds to Red Bull due to fuel consumption, so their performance was even better than it seemed. http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/6033653/-Thirsty-Ferrari-lost-10s-to-Red-Bull-
