Err. Happens ALL the time on here. people here aren't as biased as you make out to be (the ones with sense, anyhow).

Vettel's car broke down and I don't think Alonso would have taken him if he didn't had a faulty sparkplug.

I'm not a Alonso fan, I came round to finding him almost likable in 2008 - part 2009 when he was doing rubbish, but then I decided I didn't like him lol. Anyhow, as long as he won't start whining if Massa will beat him, I won't throw a hissy fit over it. I'll just support Massa, vettel and Schumacher.

I have been a fan of Alonso's all along. You can look back in any post I've ever done, and see that.

He's a driver that you can build a team around, and Ferrari is the perfect team for him. I just hope he doesn't pull a Kimi by going ahead and winning a WC, and then fading quickly after that. I don't think he's that type of person. Far too soon to be talking about that, but it's fun to speculate.

Alonso bashing is so 2009. Those folks have closed up that shop to get a head start speculating on who's coming to Ferrari next. A 1-2 finish is merely a bump in the road for the hand-wringing set. I'm sure the Scuderia will experience a bad weekend soon enough, throwing open the gates for them to cry out for Ferrari to sign whichever driver is the first to post fastest lap or make an on-track pass.

Actually, I'm waiting to see if Massa will crash out so the great Fernando can get an advantage over the field.

I haven't been a fan of Alonso, but hey, he seems to have WAY more personality after the first race than I've ever seen him have before.

Maybe he's having a good time working with the Ferrari F1 'family'...hey, he's a Ferrari driver now, so I wish him the best.

    I'm here!!!

Not a fan of Alonso...although we have to admit that he is a very good driver!!! He reminds of Schumi some years ago...no one liked him...and then he became a legend!!!

Just like Schumacher, Alonso is cocky, looks arrogant, he is there to win no matter what!!! Although normally it can result in a success formula...the fans don't usually like them...unless they become the most successful F1 driver ever!!!

Relatively speaking. In absolute terms, there IS NO excitement there.

I think different tracks may favor different cars but I don't see post-qualifying fireworks in the horizon.

Why should we be any different in our attitude toward drivers than Enzo was?
Hired help is all. (With a few exceptions)

Even though I'm not an Enzo fan by any means he did appreciate Gilles, and I appreciate that.

Here's a post I made after the race:

I am pleased to see Ferrari do well last weekend, but Alonso at the team leaves me deeply concerned.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

So far the marriage of Alonso and Ferrari is off to a wonderful honeymoon.

...I just want to savor the moment and hope it turns into a wonderful marriage and not the acrimonious divorce that happened between him and McLaren.

As others have said, the past is past and hopefully all parties have learned from the experience.

    Forza Ferrari!

Still here. The fact that the guy won his first race for Ferrari does not change that at all; it is only a testament to his driving abailities which are beyond doubt.

However, his personality is a entirely other matter...

Far from me to hate Alonso or anyone else, for that matter.
I simply believe he is a "high maintenance" driver that is manageable when the going is good and smooth, like this first race, but becomes a pain in the butt and a whiner when the going gets tough.
And I really hope that I am wrong and that the honeymoon continues.

I'm happy for the team winning not the driver, I just don't like Alonso and never will.
