Gary, you are a great guy, but with due respect that's a meaningless cliche. There is not two sides to everything. In some cases one side in a dispute is just flat out, 100%, stone cold wrong.

First, thanks Travis for posting your experience. Its always good to hear when fellow members get excited about a Ferrari encounter.

I have had very good dealings with Lake Forest. Their service team seems to be on top of things and Ben in their service department is very knowledgeable and has done a great job with my 360.

When I first went there, I was treated with respect. The salesperson did not smother me nor did he ignore me. This was even after learning I had just purchased a Ferrari elsewhere.

As a business owner myself, I know that you cannot make all your customers happy 100% of the time. That sucks, but it simply cannot happen. I read the negative comments about Lake Forest, but there are always two sides to every story. Not to downplay the bad experience, but for every bad experience there are 50-100 good experiences. Unfortunately, its usually the unhappy customers that yell the loudest and voice their opinions the most.

The post Travis made was simply done to share a great experience he had-nothing more, nothing less.

Recall before LFSC carried Ferrari, Travis, Rick was selling/displaying classic Corvettes. Great ones. Even had one of the Scaglietti's (though that one may've shared inventory with the Ferrari's). I was thinking gas money more than cool car purchase, and they'd see my beater de jour parked out front when I'd stroll in. Couldn't have been more cordial. Glad your experience was a good one, too.

This thread is getting ugly and it is time to close it. I'm all in favor of sharing experiences but this thread is getting personal.

Agreed. If someone has a serious problem with dealer service, that's valid, but put it in another thread or create a new post.

I've been to LFSC a few times, and they've always been more than happy to let me wander around and drool, even unsupervised in the service area. Continental doesn't have nearly the floorspace, but I've also never tried venturing past the front showrooms.

Tyler Dean is accomodating to anyone who walks into the dealership. And Dave Alexander at Continental is the same. Both are nice places to visit, whether you are a customer or not.

Todd Ruoti has a pretty great handle on stuff over at Continental, if you venture past the showrooms. Good guy, too.

I began my obsession with Ferraris at age 3 in 1985 when I saw the TR for the first time. My grandmother (Bubbie) used to watch me on Fridays and routinely take me to LFSC.

I don't own a Ferrari nor have any of my relatives. However, every time I've walked in to LFSC (which is probably hundreds of times at this point) the people there have been ultra cool and come off very enthusiastic.

FWIW, I too had a bad experience* with LFSC's service dept. It was long ago so perhaps things have changed but I'm not likely to return and find out.

    * I was told on more than one occasion(for the same fault mind you ) that the car was ready when it wasn't. My commute there was long and via two trains which took hours each way. They showed little regard for for my time but charge dearly for their own.

I had the same experience a few times too. Not even the sales side of things could understand why service would make me drive all the way up there (45 minutes each way) only to see the car not finished.

There's a fresh thread on LFSC's lack of accommodation in the general forum as well today: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=277954

In any case, maybe we should indeed start a "Bad experiences with Lake Forest Sports Cars" thread instead of carrying on here. Would the moderator allow such a thread? To get all the stories out there?

You are absolutely free to open a new thread which would be dedicated to subject at hand.
My point from the beginning was to prevent hijacking of Bounty's thread only.
I have no problem with anyone expressing any opinions otherwise ,in a proper setting and as long as there is a minimum of decorum maintained.

    That's a crock of crap :)

If not for meaningless cliches, I would be incapable of holding a conversation.

I believe, Mike, based upon what I have been told, that this was not as cut and dried as the OP made it. And the information I received was from someone who would have no reason to rush to the defense of LFSC. You know my own personal bias based upon our prior conversations.

How is the family? Hoping we can maybe meet up this summer. Even if I'm currently slumming it automotively.

    Hi Gary,

I was not clear. I was referring to the general proposition that there are "two sides to everything..." I hate that phrase. I was not referring in any way to LFSC.

Further, service at LFSC has always been top notch in my experience.

I hold no opinion about the OP's allegations. Hell, I did not even know about the controversy with LFSC until this post!

    :)

    Hello everyone

I'm 18 years old and have been "lurking" around this forum for a while. While I don't own a Ferrari, I am an avid enthusiast. I have been in love with the brand ever since I can remember. Unfortunately I have been limited to only seeing the beautiful cars at car shows or occasionally on the road.

After reading this thread I thought I might have to make a trip down to LFSC so I could see some of the cars a little bit closer. I called yesterday to verify that it was okay for me to browse their selection and they were incredibly nice and let me know their hours for me to come and look around. I was going to wait until this weekend but I could not resist. Naturally I woke up and headed down there first thing in the morning.

I about passed out when I drove by and saw the Testarossa in the lot. I had to park my car and take a breather to prepare myself to see these cars up close. I was absolutely amazed. I took about an hour and a half walking around appreciating the cars then headed home. I fell in love with the maroon F430 they have in the showroom.

I don't fit the typical 18 year old type either, though. I started to read the economist in the 7th grade. By the time I hit High School I started to trade stock in my spare time. About a year ago I started building a business plan and have recently launched operations. Being only 18 years old I encountered a lot of people trying to lecture me on the ways of business. I started to get very annoyed with how everyone felt that just because I am young they need to talk down to me. Point of this is that I expected this to happen at LFSC. Being younger than their target market entails I expected to get a few looks or for someone to check on me a few times to make sure I was not tinkering with anything. To my surprise they simply welcomed me into the showroom and let me look around.

I have to say, that was the best way I have ever spent an hour and half in my life.

I don't like censorship, especially when it concerns a vendor that I may choose (or not) to use. That deprives me of information. So lay off the poster.

There is no censorship here ,Webster is free to open a separate thread about his "beef" with LFSC (which he did already in the past as I recall).Hijacking this thread is not allowed however and if some of you insist on doing so it will be closed (per wish of the ORIGINAL poster ,Bounty).
    Cool off RDzingel.....

I'm glad to hear that you had a positive experience that was similar to mine. The maroon F430 was the one I was referring to in my original post. Glad to see you have good taste :)
This was exactly the reason I made this post...to hear about other's experiences visiting the showroom and admiring the cars. Good luck to you and your business venture. It sounds exciting.
