Very sad to hear, and we will keep him in our prayers. My wife and I met Dennis a few years ago at an art opening. He was very friendly, and I'm sure he has forgotten more about art than most people will ever learn.

I've read something like that yesterday, also he's running out of cash & living off residuals, something like 50k a year. Financially crippling divorces & poor choices with investing in art has taken a toll on him.

It's hard to tell what the real health situation is under the circumstances? If he passes soon it was true. Get well soon.

If he really weighs 100 lbs, it's true.

If not it might just be a court dodge.

Very Sad. I knew him when I was in the biz. Easy Rider is a classic.

The news has been about for a while, so doubt it's fake.

I just watched a clip of him getting a star and he is very frail, needed help walking. 100lbs may have been generous.

Was just gonna post those pics. Makes me really sad because I've lost someone to a slow and painful bout with cancer so I've seen them go from full of life and energy to a mere fraction of their former self. Also reminds me of what happened with Paul Newman.

Way too long overdue, he's more deserving than most new actors that get honored.

Btw, not the way I want to remember him.

I love Dennis Hopper and I hate to see anyone die of cancer.

But lets change our perspective here...

The man is 73 years old and lived a full life. I doubt there is anything he wanted to do that he didnt. His career has been full of great roles and he is an icon in the business.

Instead of mourning his death I really think its better to celebrate his life.

I agree. Having been to more funerals than years I've been around I think there needs to be more celebration of life.

    Absolutely.

I think part of our sorrow here is we tend to remember the people we grew up watching on TV, the movies, and sports figures as immortals, that they don't age but we do.

There are some folks we just plain remember as they way they were, not the way they are, it's just hard to believe Jack Nicholson, Peter Fonda, Burt Reynolds, Donald Sutherland, James Garner, etc. are all OLD, but they are.
