May not be Ferraris, but there are some spectacular cars in that post!! Too bad they are in that condition. That '63 Vette with three taillights strikes me as odd though...is that a racing version or something? PDG
Google search 63 split window found on google street view... they say its a fuelie but you never know
Made famous in 1964 by Jan And Dean in the lyrics of their hit Dead Man's Curve. Some people call them "California Sixtails".
I just cannot understand the mindset of folks who to this. I mean, even in the condition it's in that Corvette and Rolls Royce are still worth a pretty tidy sum - even if it were just a few thousand - you'd think people living in dumps like that could use the money. It's almost like a mental illness sort of thing.... Jedi
Regarding that blue & red '56 Vette... a friend of mine ended up purchasing it along with 2 '63 Stingrays & 2 '67 Stingrays. It seems they had been rumored to exist for many years in a barn west of Sacramento. Several people tried to buy them over the years, but the owner would chase everyone off w/ out actually seeing the cars. None knew if they really existed or if it was just a rumor. This collector friend of mine, who is very good w/ people, got to know the owner of the 'Vettes. One day, when he stopped for a visit, he was shown the cars. When he asked if they were for sale, the old guy that owned them said no, he had acquired them as an investment for the future. At that, the owner's wife said, "Honey, you bought these cars to invest for a rainy day. You are 87 years old, you're in poor health. It's raining, sell the damn cars!" This photo shows them in my friend's garage with part of his collection. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the '67 Camaro I've indicated is a very special car. I seem to remember this specific Camaro as being the car that sparked the whole "pro-touring" trend in the mid-90's... Image Unavailable, Please Login
You are right about the '68 Camaro. Known as 'Red Witch'. Was sold this January at the Barrett-Jackson auction.
What a great investment strategy, buy cars and put them in a field and let them sit open to the elements for a couple of decades and then sell them once they are good and thoroughly rusted throughout.. BRILLIANT!
sorry, no data on location. It should be somewhere in France, even if the 400 has english licence plates. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
