LOL!! IIRC, there was a 458 without the horsey in the front. Is it an option to get rid of it or did someone find use for a hack saw? -G.B.
Not that I totally agree, but I get the intent on the bigger GT cars. They obviously went out of their way to force this one- isn't there a raised post where the horse is applied?
Look at the classic Ferrari's of the past...........How many Horses were on a Lusso or a 275 GTB. I think they were the understatement of elegance. I don't really like the shields on the new cars I think many of the designs look cleaner without them, but virtually every car has them as if they are naked without them......
Of course! The Enzo is perfection; they jumped the shark with the Enzo. The Enzo proves that they can get it right the first time around.
Ouch! I agreed with this sentiment until someone posted this.........looks like one of those carnivorous ants with the red body and black jaws. The whole package is very aggressive and alluring. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, I was being a little playful there. I've yet to see it in real life so reserve final judgement (especially considering how much better the Cali and 612 look in the flesh compared to the pics). But going from the pics, sometimes I'm thinking it looks truly great and will be one of those cars that is held as an example for a long time to come and in other pics I'm thinking it's perhaps one of the most inept examples of car design I've ever seen. I really need to see a 458 in the flesh, and soon!
Had the same feeling. In real life.... it is stunning!! in particular in red, black, white, dark blue....
I couldn't agree more to what you have said. I also believe they pursue this same strategy in BMW with the M models as well. It makes sense when you look from a corporate point of view for the company.
You make a good point. The shields look especially "squeezed in" in that small fender area of the 458. Yet almost everybody will order them. By comparison that little horsey down low in the front is pretty unobtrusive. Pretty easy to remove, or a compromise would be to powdercoat it black...
I agree - the dark wheels, black mirrors and lowered stance really work for me.......& even the number plate position is right .......not sure about the black painted lower section of the front bar/lip.
I've done my share of going from hating the the front, to accepting it, then kind of liking it, then reverted back to hating it, then accepted it yet again.... and..... thing is, if you show up on the block, in front of a restaurant, car meet, gathering, in the 458 --you will be the center of attention. People will stop what they're doing and look and they will be in awe of the car (and then maybe you, maybe). The car is a head-turner and is way better looking than the Enzo.
