I seem to recall that the engine cover in your first shot is aluminum and not carbon fiber. Is that correct?

To be honest I cannot recall if it was indeed carbon fiber or not. Sorry I couldn't help there.

 

Well I was hoping ferrarifixer could recall the answer and was going to shoot him a PM, but his account shows Banned. Anyone know if that's a permanent thing?

There is only one McLaren F1 LM in Japan and it is NOT in storage, and it is NOT for sale. It is displayed at ZAZ auto gallery and is a prized possession of the owner, who has many superexotics.

Race cars are NOT exempt from import duties.

 

You might want to clarify that to say "LM".

The roof of the GT is removed in the same manner as the street version.

 

Excellent!! I saw them play at Australia's "Big Day Out" back in 2007.

They were awesome playing live.

 

The engine covers for all of the F50 GT's are carbon fiber

 

nice. would be cool to see it without the roof on!

 

It probably wouldn't look at good without the roof as a standard F50 because of the built-in roll cage. It almost surprises me that it can be removed as the body structure would be stiffer if they had permanently bonded it to the tub.
