"Color to Sample" Scuderia **BEWARE**

Stopped by Ferrari of Orange County today and thought my eyes were deceiving me when I laid eyes upon a Tiffany inspired Scuderia. My first thought was ... "oh no they didn't!!" Unfortunately ... they did! Has to be one of the more shocking colors I've ever seen on a Ferrari (and on a Scuderia no less!).

not the best color, but not eye-gougingly bad.

i think this car works in just about any color under the sun....

I don't mind it.

 

I vaguely remember something about the owner asking FNB to keep the cover on the car at all times because he didn't want the internet to go crazy (or something along those lines).

 

A couple of you see it and say you don't mind it, you'd take it because heck, it's a scuderia or whatever....BUT if you were actually at the point to be ready to pull the trigger and buy a Scuderia I don't think you guys would do it.

I've done the same thing- there's a car I want and in the years leading to the point I can buy it I'd see an off color example and say well, it really doesn't look that bad in that color, or if it were a little cheaper due to color I'd consider that color...but when it comes down to fufilling a dream and putting hard earned cash down, well I wouldn't even consider the odd color had I noticed earlier. Wouldn't happen for me.

The buyer will have to be infatuated with Tiffany's to buy this car, or have a wife who is infatuated and only lets her husband buy it because of the color...in which case the husband buys it because a weird color Scuderia is better than no Scuderia

I first started looking at Ferrari's around 2004-5 and had to put the whole thing on hold until late last year. At the time I was looking at 355 Spiders, and there was a low mileage dark blue 355 with FULL red interior- even the steering wheel and dash. The car looked to be nice condition and very low mileage, the blue color was nice but the full red interior was just too much- the car was for sale for a couple of years!!! It was on auto trader, ebay everywhere and the price just kept going down down down. Maybe it eventually sold when it got low enough that the buyer could get a new steering wheel and dash, I don't know.

This Scuderia will be for sale for a long time if it is for sale!

 

As mentioned before, at least it's not green!

The photo is from the Ferrari Newport Beach service department in Costa Mesa. Their Ferrari sales/showroom is in Newport Beach. Maybe it was sold and is being prepped for delivery?
