This is a rather obscure question only for experts...
How many green 330 GTCs were produced?

There are only two green GTCs here in the States that I'm aware of:
#9867 described as light green metalic with tan leather.
#10455 described as seabird green with tobacco leather.

Anyone have any photos of green GTCs?

I took this picture in North Bend, Washington, in 1972. It's a green 330GTC that I had been following on I-90. I had no idea that green is an unusual color for that model. It looks like I was driving my dad's 1967 Plymouth Belvedere. Might have been the first Ferrari I had ever seen on the road.

9867: Original color Verde Medio 19400 M with Beige VM 3218 leather.
10455: Original color Verde Scuro 19394 with Orange VM 3104 leather. Not Seabird. None of the 330 GTCs was ever painted Verde Seabird originally. The Verde Seabird color code would be 2.665.902 and 2.665.982.

While with ALGAR ENTERPRISES in Rosemont, PA, I picked up two "new" 330CTCs from Luigi Chinetti Motors in Greenwich, CT in January 1969. These were the first Ferraris that I drove equipped with Firestone Cavallino tires. (On the ride back with the cars, it rained and the roads were like a sheet of ice.)
One of the 330s was Verde Scuro Ferrari (20-G-186), with black leather and tan carpets. The other was Oro Chiaro Metallizzato (106-Y-19) with deep red leather. Both were equipped with A/C and Boranni wire wheels. (The gold car came with one straight-eared knock-off spinner on the right rear wheel, as opposed to curved. Used to cost it points at shows.) After both of these "new 1967" cars sat in inventory for close to two years, the green car went to a local buyer, whose name escapes me.

Green can be a hard color for a car to pull off but it suits the GTC to a Tee.

    Thanks Marcel,
Unfortunately I get my mis-information from old Ferrari Market Letter ads.

    Here is the lovely 9867:

The correct color code was Verde Scuro 19394. Not 20-G-186.
The correct color code was Oro Chiaro 19410 M. Not 106-Y-19.
The cars you mention must have been #10755 (Verde Scuro 19394 with Nero Franzi interior), sold new to Darrell Dean in Blairsville/PA. The other one must have been #10767 (Oro Chiaro 19410 M with Rosso VM 3171 interior) sold new by Algar to Burt Simon in Chicago.
A total of 10 (ten) 330 GTCs were painted originally Oro Chiaro 19410 M.

I believe you are correct, that sounds like 10767 which is now with me. Thanks for the number of 330GTCs in 19410 M. Is there any way to know how many of those 10 had Rosso VM 3171 interiors?

    Best,

    Jack.

    Marcel-
    Thanks for the input.
I was referring to the color chips that I have been carrying around with me for the past 42 years: "CARROZZERIA SCAGLIETTI- EUROLAC, GLIDDEN SALCHI S.P.A". My bad.
Darrell Dean doesn't ring a bell on the green car.
Burt Simon- yep, that's the man. In fact, Bill Kontes was living in Illinois at the time and put the deal together for me.

I had heard that Bill Kontes was somehow involved in the initial sale of 10767, but until I read your post I never knew in what capacity. Thanks for mentioning it.

Sure. The ONLY other 330 GTC which originally was Oro Chiaro with Rosso VM 3171 leather was #10975. All the other Oro Chiaro ones had (mostly) Nero Franzi (black) and one had Rosso Scuro leather.

So you have never seen a thread hijack on FChat?? Anyway here is David L's old car that went via Opus Prime and Duttons to a young guy who has taken it on a few of our carby drives. It's nice to have a few younger guys along with us old farts. It is a sort of olive green. Looks good.
By the way (thread hijack again) are you doing the McKay Rally in a few weeks? I think there are still places left. 40+ howling V12s with banks of webers will be great.
