Quote from the advert: "Will easily pass as £350.000 202 mph original." Ahahahahahaaaa - good one. What a pile of junk.
Both cars are very impressive and stonking at that. I can't see why anyone would ridicule them, they're barely imperceptible from the real thing........hic! Too much vodka me thinks.
It's a Boxer kit car, NOT a Testarossa kit car. Sheesh, get it right...& with Lambo doors! http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/1680289263.html
Well, it seems as though they weren't sure what car they were trying to mimic... no wonder it looks so terrible!
And if the seller knew how to spell it might help. Wait just a minute, it's supposed to be a "1985 FERRARI TETAROSSA REPLICA,LAMBO!" The offspring of inbreeding I guess.
what a waste of an NSX: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-ACURA-NSX-LAMBORGHINI-DIABLO-RARE-ONE-OF-THE-KIND_W0QQitemZ170466515823QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item27b0989b6f
As far as Lamborghini fakes go, that actually looks pretty good. I do agree though, it would have been more desirable if left as a stock NSX. All the best, Andrew.
The fake engine cover really is a low blow. It takes cheating to a new level. I can't understand why anyone would want to own something like this.
Just when you thought you'd seen everything. Freeze! Miami Vice! Claims to be a genuine McBurnie Daytona replica. http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/1683088289.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you hadn't told me if was supposed to be a Daytona replica, I wouldn't have known what it's trying to be... very odd car. All the best, Andrew.
Read the ad again. Sounds like it's supposed to be a replica of the McBurnie replica. The car shown is an absolute POS.
I can't speak for a lot of the people who own/build replicas. I can only speak for myself... When I was very young back in the '60s, I got into cars by building models. My dad had models of customs, street rods, etc. I built those, as well as models of sports cars and race cars. I was raised well below the poverty line, and if you wanted something nice, you had to make it yourself. I really loved Ferraris of the day, Porsche race cars of the day, and was 6 when Ford was beating everyone at LeMans with the GT-40. I couldn't ever afford the real cars, so I built models and drove cheap custom cars that I modified myself. That mentality stayed with me even after I had money. Later, while also building race cars, I built a Daytona Spider replica as one of the project cars to advertise my custom car shop. The originals were going from cheap used cars to closing in on a million bucks each. So, I did what I had been doing since I was a kid: I built a model car. This one just happened to be 1:1 scale and I could drive it around rather than let it sit on my shelf and look at it. I ended up bein called up to have it filmed for one of the last episodes of Max Headroom, after which I sold it and moved on to the next project (I had had it for 3 years at thap point and it had been in shows and on television a few times, including "Ballard Vice" on Seattle's Almost Live). It was a great car, fast, fun, and I thought it looked great. Of course, I never told anyone it was a real Ferrari (even with the emblems), as it was more important to my shop for it to be a replica that was fabricated at the shop. I ended up building a couple more for customers. yeah, I'd love to have a 250 Lusso or original Daytona. New Ferraris don't do it for me. A 308 might not be too bad, but back then, they were quite expensive. I built my car for less than $12k total. And I had the fun of building it myself. That one looks pretty good to my untrained eye. I think the main problem people have with replicas is that most are made very badly, looking nothing like the real thing and are "tried" to be passed off as the real thing. I saw this at an official Ferrari dealer trackday. I talked with the owner without realizing it was his car and he said he brought his 360.....except he built his himself. It was so hard to keep from laughing in the guys face, I simply "oh" and moved on. Image Unavailable, Please Login
