Yah, but I would never let my car carry others parts on the sheetmetal, no matter how "lowly" I was. In fact, I would &^%$ a brick.
Wow. Those look nice. Are they where I think they are so I can go take a look? Maybe Saturday morning.... Any by the way, how did you get the embossed horse?
Missed this question - apologies. The answer was no issues whatsoever but the climate here in the UK is not that severe obviously. I can't see why you would have any more problems with it than you would with the seats or door cards though. How did you get on with the window carrier thing? I had another idea on it if you didn't yet deal with it....
Nope, they're still at the upholstery shop. The guy there has some sort of tool/brand/something that embosses the horse.
Console now, and there's a big box of Wilton carpet pieces from GAHH sitting in the shop. Getting closer. The only problem now is that the switches and ashtray look bad next to the new leather. I suppose this never ends... Thats coming along nicely. The switch-gear doesn't look too bad to me. Mine are much worse but I'm hoping to restore them instead of replacing them. I think my wife is gonna throw me out of the house if I don't stop spending money on my 328.
Pretty much, but the only people that will notice will be you,and someone else that redid their interior also. And the concour judges. Doug
So -almost- back where we started... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So close. Rumor says it will be ready by this weekend -- and naturally, I'll be out of town I have to give the guys at Ruf Auto Center full props; they're -way- more particular than I am about details and all the switches working and such. This car will come out 100% functional, and I don't believe it -ever- has been 100% working. Exclusive Auto Interiors did the leatherwork, excellent quality. I'm pleased. It's done, the car just needs the final detail. I'm very happy with the results. The reason I shot the pictures of the seatbelts is that they are the Delorean units, and they seem to fit just fine. Earlier threads indicated that the stalks were too short, but they look ok so far.
Done! I got it back today. It is -very- nice, and with the new interior and steering rack could pretty much pass for the 11,000 mile car the odometer claims. We're chasing a random rattle -- we think it's the exhaust heatshields -- but I'm glad to have it back for this week's C&C and next week's spring run. I do have to get a vinyl top shield, but the little pins on the bottom are missing. Sources anyone? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh -- on the Delorean stalks... It turns out they're ok if you're tall, but if you have to push the seat forward then they are indeed too short. They work fine, but the end of the stalk rubs on the inboard outside bolster. I will be removing the seat and replacing that stalk with the original part soon.
Congratulations Tillman! It could pass for new. You gotta love that new-interior smell. Drive her in good health.
Hi Guys, Sorry to hijack this tread a little but can you tell me what the part number is for the rubber molding where the Targa connects into? It's shown in the pic below. Many Thanks, Bob. Image Unavailable, Please Login
