anyone ever used any of the "slicker quicker" additives in the manual Transmission ie Z-Max, Lucas ect. I need to top off my Trans but I don't need much. might this help with a cold Trans Shift (2nd) or does the Fcar reject such.

    Personally, I wouldn't anything.

You should use Redline 75W90NS gear oil and you should be fine.

Some guys use the Redline Superlight Shockproof.

I switched to the Redline 75W90NS and found a huge improvement in shifting (when the oil is warmed up, not as much when it is still cold)

I used the Redline 75W90 gear oil with BG LSII friction modifier for the LSD.

do you find the friction modifer helping when shifting or only on cornering.

Honestly, I changed the oil at the same time as adding the friction modifier, so I can't really tell which was the bigger improvement over stock. I'm guessing it was the Redline gear oil.

The story I've read here on Fchat from 348 owners is that some gearboxes' limited slips chatter around corners, when using Redline 75/90NS. If that happens, adding a bit of the friction modifier will eliminate the chatter. I changed my box to the 75/90NS, and didn't have any chatter, so I didn't use the modifier. I don't think there's a need to use it, if you don't have a chatter problem with the NS oil.
