So, I got this new ride. first picture: new ride. Second picture, the back of the timing case. Am I missing a cover plate ? Third picture: There is a coolant weep around the cap. Is that a bad cap, or is that normal for a F355? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
First pic; Nice ride!!! Second pic; Normal Third pic; Unusual, I would check if the cap was tight and if there is a seal in the check it is not worn. Again, nice 355!!
I believe only the challenge cars came with back covers on the belt covers. rad cap weeping...mine does the same (a bit less though)...and I'm not worried one bit nice car, enjoy!!!
Your eyes are sharp, yes a 1989 328. In fact, my garage now is all Italian, all the time, with a Ducati 998 in front of the 328 as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pic 2 definately normal it was something I picked up when I first had my belts changed the main dealer even sent me the drawing to prove it.
Congratulations!!!!! Now, don't neglect the other Italians... they all deserve love too. Belt covers look normal.
Fantastic car Mitchell!! Congrats! Quite the garage my friend!! Im jealous!! Very nice! Everything is in order, perhaps the weeping cap is a sign on the seal starting to perish/go hard under the cap. Just keep an eye on it. Again, congrats and thanks for sharing pics.
My wallet has been pretty thin with Italian upkeeping activities via Ricambi for about a month now. No neglect there. This weekend I have to chase down a 998 running really hot issue. Thankfully, the 328 is problem free this year, except oil changes.
nice collection! RE: Radiator cap, mine has been bone dry ever since I owned her so not normal in my book
Yes, those are the red upgraded calipers. Although at the time I did not know that they came in non-upgraded black version.
Man that's a nice setup you got. Cap on mine leaks too. Probably just a common failure item. Not sure how much a new one is, probably $5000 or something.
Not quite $5k, but it does come in a nice yellow box. http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=191
Great car. I remember seeing it around on this forum. No, you're not missing anything on the cam covers. Yes, your coolant cap is leaking and is the culprit. Mine was the same. I replaced the cap and the leak is gone. Enjoy!
"We" want a nice aluminium one from Hill Engineering! (if the guts of an original can be moved over into an alu. item).
