The poll is rediculous, sorry. I only wish to see cutting edge racing without any great fear of high level cheating, corruption, or choreography. I only wish to see machines with high driver control/involement, and virtually zero outside control and input. That way, both the car and the driver are on a level playing field. What we have had the last few years is nothing more than a grand carousel. You may not know the positions the ponies will stop at, but it was surely chosen by someone before the ride ever began. Maybe not, but it sure "looks" that way.

I am a Ferrari fan, but only when its meritable. If its a good fair race, I will always praise the victor. Unfortunately, I have almost zero interest in todays racing. I would give almost anything to be able to experience GP racing in the50's and 60's, Fangio at the Ring, etc., that was real. Deadly, but certainly real.

    I agree!

BTW, I must admit I really enjoyed watching MS dominate in the "golden years"...but have lost interst in him now that he races for the wrong team :)

Yes, the two options are unfair...but IMO they are a good gauge for the kind of userss who participate in here. There's a majority of people who mainly want to see a fun race and good entertainment, and others who are blinded by Ferrari-red glasses, have no objectivity and just want to see Ferrari win regardless of how entertaining a race may or may not be (e.g. me  ).

To be honest I am little surprised by the poll results so far given that this is a Ferrari forum.

I also think it's fair to say that the majority here (including me) want both. It just that we don't all have the same priorities.

For me what counts is to see Ferrari win. A spectacular action-filled race is a bonus.

+1. The success of Ferrari matters greatly to me, but not at the expense of a competitive grid. I did enjoy the early-to-mid 2000's with Ferrari's success, but the races were truly boring even compared to today's grand prix.

What's wrong with that? I agree with much of what he says ;)

    +1,000

He was *so* special. And as JC notes, balls the size of coconuts! Those cars were absolute beasts to boot.....

RIP Gilles, and thanks for the memories.

The last thing JC needs is for me to boost his ego;)
I find him very clever and quite the entertainer.

Oh great, Clarkson again. I like Clarkson a lot but sometimes I wonder what his status as an automotive Jesus says about the enthusiasts in general. The man is clearly an entertainer and all things automotive are just props for his calculated "englishness".

Not to sure on that you maybe right, unseriously I'd take the chance that I'd pay no road tax on my Ferrari, and could use the bus lanes .. and he'd tax the tree huggers....tis a mere joke tho..;)

    True enough..:p

However I'm giving Ian's MS will he won't he WDC again poll some thought...how about you..?

    :D Another JC quote;

“I don’t understand bus lanes. Why do poor people have to get to places quicker than I do?”

Clarkson is an automotive journalist, so are the other two. He's just naturally funny.

    LOL!! :D

Reminds me of when he saw a sign saying "goods vehicles only" but in his mind it meant good vehicles. You gotta love him! ;)

Not that I mind but here isn't much journalism in the program. And while he is indeed a funny guy, most of his ideas are ripped off from Monty Python and applied to the automotive culture. I wonder if he has ever acknowledged that.

But back to the regular programming.

*Hijack alert* (Maybe a new thread?)

And they are the first to say so! I think that's (at least in part) why it's so successful....

"The producers said we don't feature enough affordable cars.... So, tonight, we feature the *cheapest* Ferrari of them all!...... The F430! :D

Or, the letter from "Mr R. Abramowich, Chelsea, London" :D

    +1 ;)

I figure that if Ferrari can 1-2 every other race they will win both championships, so I will go to two races, one of each.
